I shouldn't write this actually and should be secretive about this place, because it's my favorite mountain hut in the entire Grindelwald Valley! I have been there 5 times now at different occassions and times of the year and it was always a great experience: The service is outstanding, the authentic and regional food ist delicious, the price-value especially for their half-pension is good and last but not least their Barrel Sauna and Spa with view to the Eiger Northface and down into the Grindelwald valley is just mindblowing - especially at night and in the winter below a Sky full of Stars. For the 360° experience, they have a little viewing platform a few steps away from the hut. For eMountainbikers, there is a free charging station. There is just one thing, I would like to suggest: If you would offer a discount for Alpine Club members at least in bunkbed rooms and offer a 'Bergsteiger' meal option that would be highly appreciated! Unlike other tourists, we hikers usually support the work of our Alpine Clubs and keep the trails going. Also most of us do a lot of volunteer work and support sustainable tourism, eg. we take our waste back with us and avoid it in the 1st place! Some huts appreciate this and 'give' a...
Read morePosting about the accommodation / half board as we were hiking and stayed for 1 night: Have showers (open from 1630-0900) they were great. We stayed in a mass dorm - comfortable and quiet. There were only 4/12persons when stayed. Dinner is from 1800-1930 - tables pre allocated location. Consisted of soup, bread, salad and main (chicken and rice dish). Was good portion and very nice. WiFi - works only in main seating area. Works well though. Drinking water available to fill up. Breakfast from 0730-0900 - although we found this a little late (ideally 0700 for us) food was great (cereal, bread, tea/coffee/juice, cheese, meat platter, eggs and fruit) Overall would recommend if passing through for a night. Great view and fair price for area. Crowds die off just before train and gondola rides - very peaceful in the evening...

When the waitress explained this, her tone felt abrupt and dismissive to us. Later, when he asked about other options, she told him to “just read the menu” and placed an English menu on the table in a way that felt abrupt.
Throughout the visit, we noticed a clear difference between how our table was treated compared to others. As an Asian family, we couldn’t help but feel that might have influenced the interaction, though of course we can’t know for sure. The experience was upsetting enough that I hardly...
