This family-run hotel is located in Hasliberg-Goldern, a small village about 30 minutes from Interlaken. There are 12 different accommodations ranging in size, all modernized, exceptionally clean and well-maintained, and include en suite. Some accommodate families with children and others are a little smaller. Some rooms having cooking facilities and others, like ours, are smaller with no appliances other than TV.||There are 2 stand-alone cottages and the other 10 are in the main building above the restaurant.||Our room was actually one of the cottages, very comfortable for the two of us, and a creek running behind the cottage was quite soothing to fall asleep at night. The cottage was furnished with typical Swiss twin beds, chairs and a small table. The bath is small with a walk-in enclosed shower.||The view from the property is fantastic with the Eiger, a glacier and other mountains seeming so close you think you can walk up to the top.||There is a gondola a few minutes driving time from the hotel which rises over 6000 feet and provides a spectacular view of the valley and mountains. You can eat and drink at the top and take in the view and fresh air.||The hotel can be reached by train from anywhere in Switzerland via Brunig. You then take a 20-minute bus ride to a couple hundred yards from the hotel. The cost of the train and bus is included in your Swiss Rail Pass. Or, if you drive there is ample parking.||The staff, Gabie, Sandro, Lizabeth and Happi are wonderful people. They are fun, energetic people who make you feel part of the family.||Note: there are no elevators as none are really needed - and, of course no place to put one.||The experience we had at Hotel Zur Post during our 2-night stay in...

Read moreMy husband and I had a lovely stay at Hotel zur Post! Our room was quite small but very tidy and clean w/a new modern bathroom. Bed very comfortable. The restaurant was cozy and the food was very delicious--carefully prepared by the chef/proprietor and family. The location was beautiful w/beautiful view available from front of restaurant. Location also great for area hiking. We chose to stay an additional night when we saw how convenient the location was to hiking and seeing the beauty of the area. The crown jewel is the family who owns/runs this hotel/Gasthof. Gaby was so helpful to us--helping us w/ideas for hiking and seeing the beautiful surrounding areas. We appreciated that she was willing to communicate in her (very well spoken) English as we do not speak German. She and her mother, father, and Sandro are...
