Racist, rude and bad customer service.
Let's start by talking about the good stuff. The food was okay, the view was beautiful - but that is where it all ends.
We could not figure out how to pay, as there were no instructions. After asking people coming back down, we got to know that we need to pay at the top. (the instructions were not written at the bottom of the hill, only the prices).
Once we reached the top, we paid for the ride and went to stand by the usual sign we see at restaurants "wait here to be seated". After standing there for 10 mins with no one answering us, we were asked by a waitress as to why we are standing there.... we told her and pointed to the sign which said "wait here to be seated" .
She replied, "seating is reserved but sit anywhere but you shouldn't since you can be asked to get up anytime" not confusing at all, but don't worry - it only gets better from here.
When we sat down down, we asked for the umbrella to be opened as it was a bit hot ... however the waitress replied that "we don't open it once closed" ....we pointed to another family sitting next to us with an umbrella open, the waitress said "there are people sitting there" .... I guess people of color aren't welcome at this restaurant which characterizes only white people as people because that family was white.
When asking for the menu, we were told that there is no menu. When we insisted, we were told "oh the menu" that's only for food. Which was then later provided and shared.
We ended up leaving after having a small meal and some drinks. All in all, such a terrible experience in such a beautiful place.
I would recommend people of color to stay away from this place as they are a racist...

I started with the duck liver. I’m usually not too keen on liver, but i’m glad I tried this time. Very soft and doesn’t have that usual metallic liver taste.. This dish is an absolute must. Do not leave without having tried that.
I proceeded with Cordon Bleu. Although this was filling, it did not satisfy my hunger needs, hence asked for Älplermaccaronie as I was in Switzerland for only short period of time, and needed list to tick off. I find it a little bit sad how normal it is to serve Cordon Bleu with fries on the side. Fries are just fries, nothing unique, just a stomach filler. I reckon instead of fries there should be an option to have Älplermaccaroney.
At last I had a Cremeschnitte.. it was good, but nothing special. I wish I studied the options a bit better. I was really full at this stage, therefore wanted something light.
Honestly, great spot. Been here like 7 years ago and was looking forward to visit again. Next time i visit Switzerland, i will return to this restaurant.. for sure.
The view is unreal as others have pointed out, and the prices are extremely...
Read moreThey have a lovely view and, generally speaking, the restaurant makes a good impression. We ordered two salads for a starter and two main dishes. Unfortunately, both of our salads were clearly not washed and crawling with little bugs. I cannot understand how they could not wash their salad before serving it. Yes, the restaurant is pretty busy and probably they have quite some pressure in the kitchen. Yet I think that this could easily be prepared before-hand. We complained and did not have to pay for the salads. The main dishes were okay but I could not get the bugs out of my head and therefore could not enjoy the main course. Overall a real pity - they could be quite good if they tried to keep their...
