Lazy Mountain — Restaurant in Ilanz/Glion

I moved to Lazy Mountain after spending an awful night at a place nearby. It was like night and day. I was warmly welcomed by Bernadette and Clement, shown to my simple but very comfortable room, and immediately felt at home (I was told off on Sunday for clearing my breakfast things myself, but you slip into that kind of feeling). Lazy Mountain is in an old building which has kept its charm while renovating the things that count (good showers!). It's the people that make the difference, however. Knowing we were leaving at 6.30 for a yoga class nearby, Bernadette instructed us to get tea and coffee from the kitchen and help ourselves to a yogurt from the fridge. This place was a great find. I stumbled across it by chance when looking for reasonably priced accommodation in the Vals area. Lazy Mountain is a lovely refurbished traditional farm house in a small village on a South facing mountain slope. Rooms are simply furnished, with shared bathroom facilities which were spotlessly clean. I was the only guest during my stay and had the place virtually to myself. Stephan was an excellent host and prepared a great breakfast each day, and a delicious three course locally inspired dinner on my second evening. He helped me plan a very scenic mountain trail hike which would take me along the mountain side and down into the canyon.
