Nestled against a backdrop of stunning lake and mountain views, this restaurant offers a dining experience that tantalizes the senses. The cuisine, featuring a delightful array of pizzas and pastas, is truly exceptional. Each dish is crafted with care, delivering flavors that are both rich and memorable.
However, despite the culinary delights, the overall experience was marred by several issues. The service was notably inefficient and, at times, downright impolite. When we attempted to order drinks, one waiter curtly informed us that another would handle our request, yet no one ever came to take our order. This disorganization and lack of courtesy significantly detracted from the dining experience.
Additionally, the restaurant's policy of charging 2 CHF for an empty plate is both surprising and off-putting. Such a charge is uncommon, even in the most prestigious fine dining establishments, and feels particularly unwarranted given the already premium pricing of the meals.
Moreover, the allowance of smoking in the dining area significantly detracts from the ambiance. A smoke-free environment would greatly enhance the dining experience, allowing guests to fully appreciate the exquisite food and breathtaking views.
In summary, while the restaurant excels in terms of location and cuisine, substantial improvements in service and policy are necessary to elevate the overall dining experience to a...
Read moreStunning Lake View, Disappointing Restaurant Experience
Visited this restaurant near Lake Thun with family, hoping to enjoy a peaceful coffee and pizza break. Unfortunately, the experience inside left much to be desired. While we were initially seated, we were soon told that every two people must order at least one pizza to remain at the table—even if some family members didn’t want to eat. The staff and owner were shockingly rude, insisting on this policy and denying our family access to basic amenities like the restroom.
The atmosphere turned unpleasant quickly due to their tone and approach, which created an uncomfortable and hostile environment. This isn’t how hospitality should feel.
What’s worse, we eventually paid 30 CHF for a burnt pizza—which made the experience feel even more bitter. It’s baffling how such a beautiful spot could be paired with such a disappointing establishment.
The one redeeming feature? The view of Lake Thun just outside. Absolutely gorgeous and worth the visit for photos alone. There’s paid parking nearby, but in this case, the view made it worthwhile. My advice: skip the restaurant, soak in the scenery, and maybe pack...
