We had a lunch break during our TMB stage 8 Trek in August 2024. Very interesting place – you have to find your way to the gated outdoor seating area between lots of cows and their poop. Other people seemed not to mind seating close to cows where you can smell the poop and hear the noise from the cows and the cow bells. Perhaps they are very tired from going uphill all the way to there. We luckily found a table at the far end near the edge of the cliff. Inside the refugio, they had a real “OVEN”. We heard that they get supplies, including flour, every morning by helicopter and bake pies fresh every day. Eating the delicious pie made with local berries and overlooking the beautiful view were the highlight of the day after a long hike!

A bakery at the top of the climb, this place is one of the greatest places on the planet. They have pies and coffee! Picnic tables with umbrellas to shade you from the sun or cover you from the rain. Great staff, surrounded by people hiking places. And they have a WC with an incredible view, take the time to look out the window and enjoy the views from a bakery up in the mountains.

Hands down the best rösti I've ever eaten. Get it even if you don't feel hungry – it is to die for. The cakes are pretty special too. The place itself is also absolutely charming. One of the quanitest refuges we saw on the entire TMB. It is important to know, because we couldn't find this info in any other reviews, that they only take cash, but will accept both CHF and EUR.

This is a lovely restaurant on the top of a mountain overlooking a Valley in Switzerland I think. there were so many cows outside the restaurant we could sit inside a fenced area and the cows were next door ringing their bells ding dong ding dong. inside the restaurant there was a very good selection of homemade cakes are delicious, we have a carrot cake and it was so divine. the staff are very friendly and we are very happy to be part of the experience that the views were spectacular thank you very much. make sure you take your own rubbish away with you because they can only get rid of rubbish via helicopter or someone walking it down which isn't very fair so take your...

Very disappointing experience – would not recommend

I rarely write negative reviews, but this place truly deserves it. The food was below average – bland, overpriced, and clearly not fresh. What made things even worse was the incredibly rude and unfriendly owner. She was unwelcoming from the moment we arrived, and her attitude made the whole experience uncomfortable. Honestly, someone with that kind of hostility should not be working in hospitality. Do yourself a favor and...
