Fantastic and unexpected end to our hike in Sihlspring. Had the pan-fried trout with clarified butter and potatoes. Very fresh and well seasoned. Couldn't pick one dessert so we had two and both were excellent - the zirschtorte and the chocolate cake. The alcohol really came through on the torte, and the whipped cream and nuts with the cake really elevated the dish. Service was good and the restaurant itself is in a beautiful location and is a perfect place to sit and eat outside with a scenic view. Forelle gebraten war ausgezeichnet, Kartoffeln etwas fade direkt aus dem Wasser. Knusperli waren auch sehr gut. Servicequalität hängt stark von der bedienenden Person ab und hat Verbesserungspotential vom Anfang bis zum Ende. Bei der Ankunft sah man uns mit Kind 5min lang nicht, es standen 3 Personen um einen Bestecktisch in der Mitte rum. Danach hiess es zuerst bei 20-30% Auslastung, ohne Reservierung, ja? Wir sollten uns plötzlich irgendwo hinsetzen, aber ungern bei den Bäumli. Gastfreundschaft Minus. Mit geschlossenen Speisekarten warteten wir über 15min um zumindest Getränke für 2 Erwachsene zu bestellen. Irgendwann kam ein älterer Herr, weit von uns lächelte er noch, an unserem Tisch war ihm nicht mehr zu lachen zu Mute, wir vermuten es war unser Hochdeutsch, das ihn störte. Wir hatten unsere Bestellung in 30 Sekunden abgegeben. Bei der Frage nach einem Hochstuhl für unser Baby war der Herr äusserst unfreundlich und meinte, den sollen wir selbst organisieren. Am Ende fragten wir höflich ob es irgendein Dessert als TakeAway gäbe, er meinte was soll man denn als Takeaway geben (Sherlock, die Speisekarte erwähnt sogar ganze Fische als TakeAway), da wird ja wohl ein Stück Kuchen nicht so ein Drama sein. Glace am Stiel bot er uns an, zum Glück stand eine Kollegin von ihm daneben und meinte es wäre kein Problem Kuchenstücke ohne Schlagsahne mitzugeben. Wir würden uns das nächste Mal einfach neutrales bis freundliches Verhalten erwarten, auch für nicht Schwiezerdütsch sprechende Gäste in einer Gastwirtschaft. Die Natur ist ein kleines...

Wonderful restaurant in the middle of farmlands. In the summer, there is lots of seating outdoors and an area for kids to play, that includes a range of animals to see.

The main focus of the menu is fish, which is very tasty. I went with a steak for a change, that is also very good. There is a small, but good kids menu, and a good range of desserts.
