Auberge de Chindonne — Restaurant in Monthey

I had the pleasure of discovering auberge de Chindonne recently and already after 48h I felt like I belonged there and I did not want to leave. The young and lovely owners have this gift of making you feel straight at home the moment you get there. They've just taken over this massive challenge 2 months ago and thanks to their hard work and dedication they provide their guests with a delicious flavour of what idyllic mountain life looks like (and if that's not enough for you the surreal ribs will finish the job of convincing you with a receipe straight out of Tampa, Florida). In terms of accommodation, it's all in cosy chalet style and definitely top quartile for cleanliness. Prices, like all staff members, are on the very friendly side as well. We stayed 1 night in Auberge de Chindonne and had a Fondue de Chindonne (Prosecco Cheese Fondue) at night which was really good, and had Ribs & Pulled-Pork Burger at Mid-day - both meals were a blast!! Special Mention to the Ribs, that are made by a native-american in full respect for the tradition, they are melting in your mouth and deserve their lot of attention! The dynamic young team headed by Ed and Morgane have consistently exceeded expectations for a mountain lodge in its category. Here, nourishment is a highlight as opposed to the more standard mundane fare offered in similar establishments. The bbq is a must.
