My Swiss mother-in-law planned her 80th birthday party for 13 people – dinner, overnight stay, and breakfast – in this awful place. It was terrible because:||||-- I found a 3 cm long metal rod under my potato gratin (see my photos). The waitress had almost no reaction. She took the metal piece, asked if I hurt myself, said sorry while smiling and that was it. There was no attempt to give me a new plate of food (I would have refused), or any real concern. There was no "do good" gesture like a free bottle of champagne, or an apology by the owner. I've eaten out a lot (also in some cheap places) but never had something as dangerous as this happen before. ||||-- Even before I found the metal piece in my food, the main entree was very disappointing. The lamb I had was so tough, it was hard to cut it, much less chew it. I looked around and at least half of us had difficulty with the meat and left all the tough parts on the side of the plate. ||||-- Our room was small, cold, and had a big draft. The toilet was right next to the bed, with no real door in between. My husband and I had to take turns leaving the room so the other one could use the restroom. The decor was tacky and looked cheap. At least it was clean. The only part I enjoyed was using their lavender liquid soap. It smells great. ||||-- I slept only 4 hours during the night, because this place overlooks a huge church whose bells ring four times per hour, every hour! You can find ear plugs in the room, but even they could not help drown out the infernal noise. I finally fell asleep at 2 AM, only to be woken up early the next morning. It was torture. I should add, all the Swiss Germans had no problems sleeping. They said they grew up with church bells and are used to them. ||||-- If the church bells won't keep you up, then your neighbors will. Every time someone came down the stairs, the whole room including my bed vibrated. We had no next door neighbors, but I can only imagine what it's like with a full house. ||||-- Overall, this was one of the worst places I have stayed. I'm thankful it was only...

Read moreRestaurant food is really good||Waitering staff is extremely friendly||||But the rooms and sleeping accommodations are really not hotel like, a lot of it comes across as quickly put together. They also have a very big choir rehearsal room, that is next to the rooms. When we were there our son (9y old) got the room next to the rehearsal room, whilst they quickly mentioned that it might be a bit loud. We didn't think much of it. When after dinner our son went to bed they were singing there, and since the wall between his room and the choir was nothing but a wood board. It was as if you were sleeping in the middle of the choir. our son was scared as a result (the type of "singing/screaming" was not helpful). We complained at the reception where we were told they would continue until 22:00, at 22:15 they were still going, the hotel reminded them that they should stop. We complained ourselves with the choir members at 22:30 at which point they gave up. ||||In the meanwhile our son had fallen asleep in our room, meaning we paid for a room for no good reason. Told the hotel this the morning afterwards, not so much as the thought over recompensing. We got charged for the room either way, and they were not friendly, pleased, or acknowledging they perhaps made a mistake.||||Not worth the money overall, by...
