Unfortunately the food quality has decreased significantly comparing to the last year. The French fries are literally soaked in oil and today they were even burnt. Uneatable! I would even be ashamed to serve something like this to the clients. And unfortunately there is no alternative like rice or potatoes…. Everything was far too salty: starting with a salad sauce and going to spare ribs sauce - it was literally pinching my tongue and my mouth and finally I removed most of the sauce with pieces of bread in order to finish meat (which was well cooked). Last week, I had filets des perches which were soaked in the oily butter sauce. The cook clearly needs to still work on his skills - I wonder if he ever tried his own oil soaked French fries!
My main reason for writing this review is that when I provided my feedback directly they offered me another portion of fries (which was less burnt but the same soaked in oil and uneatable - as I said the cooking skills are missing) but I didn’t hear any apology nor consideration. In good restaurants you would hear something like “we are sorry for this experience. thank you for your feedback. We will pass it to the cook / work on it”.
We have been to this restaurant about 15 times during last 1,5 year but the 2 times this year are unacceptable! Apparently the cook has changed, so that explains. But it needs to improve as the current quality (everything soaked in oil and too salty) just ruins the experience.
In about one month I will give one more chance to them… let’s see if they can learn and improve based on the...
Read moreWe were looking forward to a lovely lunch after our long hike but unfortunately we were unable to actually eat here. When we informed our server that one of us was lactose intolerant and wanted to have the Salad Niçoise he told us that it came with a creamy dressing. We asked for just some oil and vinegar on the side and he told us that they had no oil. We repeated the question and he was adamant that they had no oil because it was the end of the season. We were confused because other people were eating fòods that had obviously been cooked in oil including French fries. When we asked him for a recommendation on what our friend could eat he had none. He disappeared for 20 mins and then we informed him that we wanted to order the salad without any dressing. He said he would come back later because he had "thrown away the paper with the order." We were one of 5 or 6 tables only and there was another waitress. We watched as he took another table's order then disappeared inside for 10 minutes. We then watched as he came out and delivered a menu to another gentlemen and chat with him. We watched as he perused every other table, including those that were not even his then rush past our table to disappear back inside. From the time we told him we wanted to order the salad without dressing, and a few other things, until the time he came back to our table was approximately 15 mins. This does not include the 20 minutes we waited to place the...
Read more5 stars for this hotel based on excellent value for money and the service and quality and location of accomodation provided. We stayed 3 nights here just before Xmas and would be back. ||Room is very cosy, in a traditional wooden style but with modern and tasteful touches. Good shower and very warm bathroom perfect for a day after skiing. Only point of improvement would be the pillows but our preference is for something firmer. ||Breakfast is generous and delicious with good adaptations because of Covid. Service is always with a smile, and we are English speakers. Wish we could have tried the restaurant but it was closed for the bulk of our stay because of Covid restrictions. ||Excellent location from Siviez ski lifts about 5 minutes in the car or you can get the bus at the top of the road. Less than 10 minutes by car to haute-nendaz town too where all the restaurants and shops are. Ample parking out front for free. ||Bonus is the communal kitchen where each of the 3 rooms have a separate fridge and you can help yourself to tea, or the snacks and wine stocked in the kitchen, for a very reasonable fee. Also nice communal outdoor tables and garden as well....
