The best hotel I have stayed at ever. Super clean, so beautiful, so nice. Our trip was intended to be a visit of Zurich, but we spent more time at the hotel just relaxing instead of going to Zurich. The rooms and the hotel in general is extremely clean (cleanest hotel I've seen so far). The owners are very nice, helpful, and pleasant. I enjoyed talking with them. The rooms are just beautiful and very large. We spent part of our trip just relaxing in our beautiful room with the beautiful view. The breakfasts are small but so delicious. We loved it. Moreover, there is a swing for kids (and adults) just by the hotel, we spent part of our days just swining and enjoying the view. There is a small balcony in front where you can get tea or beer and sit and enjoy the sunset while drinking. after lunch time, basically the owners leave and the hotel is like a big beautiful building which is just for you to wonder around and sit in its beautiful halls, drink tea, look at the view and just enjoy your time. Moreover, make sure to just walk around the hotel and discover. We continued upwards on the road by the hotel for 10 minutes on foot and saw the most beautiful sunset ever. My partner and I stayed at Gasthaus Zum Bauernhof for one night while traveling through Switzerland, and it was one of the most comfortable and welcoming places we have ever stayed. From the personal welcome, to the incredibly calming room, to the sweeping views of the Alps…it was exactly what we needed for a night of relaxation and enjoyment. The guesthouse has been run by the same family since the 1850s, now on the eighth generation. We met several of the family members including Andi (the current host) and his mother, Marlis, who both were so warm and kind. We had a five course dinner on the patio, cooked by Andi and their team, paired with local beers they get from a tiny brewer in the village, and the service from Marc couldn’t have been better. And breakfast? The best eggs I’ve ever had, fresh from the hens running around out front and prepared perfectly by Marlis. What can we say?||From the moment we arrived and were warmly met by Marlise - I do hope that the spelling is right - we were treated to a wonderful stay in a wonderful guest house in a wonderful town. ||Everyone was so friendly. From Andy the chef coming out to ask us personally about our eggs to Martina in the breakfast room - ever on hand. The breakfast, by the way, was healthy and plentiful with no effort spared. It was accompanied by their very own apple juice, made, in house, from apples picked in their very own orchard! Absolutely delicious. ||The rooms were spotless. Tastefully decorated and well stocked with toiletries. Car parking was on site and entry in to the rooms was a breeze with an efficient lift being available should the need arise. ||Beverages were cleverly placed in the hallway - always on hand - and the bar downstairs was a little gem on a Friday night.||Nothing was too much trouble for the staff.||We mentioned this place to our Swiss friends in the neighbouring village. They didn’t know that it had re-opened. They do now!||Not to be missed.
