Hotel Zarera — Restaurant in Poschiavo

Even though we had a late evening check in, the host was kind and came to great us outside, showed us the parking spot and prepared drinks in the bar/restaurant. We felt welcome. We also chat with the host during the breakfast/dinner time or on the nice sun terrace in the afternoon before our departure. Very nice traditional hotel, convenient location right next to the road Pontresina - Tirano. It is perfect either way you come by car or on the bus, the bus stop is just 50m above the hotel. Perfect place either to stop and sleep or eat when passing by or as we did for hiking in the mountains, such as Val da Camp. It is perhaps not the top modern one, but it is very cosy and the view from our room, from the chair on the balcony and from the restaurant was priceless! The room and the bathroom had all you could need and both were very clean. Breakfast was served directly at the table, and even though it was very rich on variety the staff was very attentive and regularly asked if we would like anything else. I spent one night in this hotel during my trip through Switzerland.||||The reason for coming there was the Saoseo lake which is in reach of this hotel. If you are hiking there you will need about 2-2.5 hours, but there is a bus station as well which drives you closer to it so you will only need to walk about 20 min. ||||I loved this hotel, it is very comfy, the owner is extremely nice and you get a great view out of your room. There's a bigger street next to the hotel and I feared that traffic will keep me awake but there wasn't any at night and during the day it wasn't that much. Breakfast was delicious, especially the great Italian-style coffee. ||||The hotel offers free wifi which you can access in the room as well. ||||I only spent one night here but if I will ever visit that region again I will choose this hotel again, it had a lovely atmosphere and for Switzerland prices are very reasonable....
