Gasthaus Sternen — Restaurant in Rafz

We got in here on a Saturday evening, ours was a studio room on the 2nd floor. Room No 10. The room was nice and cozy. The bathroom is done up well and is suitable for family and kids since its got all non slipping tiles which kind of becomes an advantage when you have kids who can create unnecessary adventure.||Please note in Rafz Saturday evening till Monday morning you are on your own. So plan your trip accordingly. Small shopping mall, restaurants all stay closed. Getting a quick bite would be a problem. The kiosk dosent have much in terms of food.||So if you landed on a Saturday then, make sure you arrive with food/fruits. Or if you come early then visit the mall and buy some.||TigTag bar - I must say , I was extremely surprised with the flavor and quality of food that comes out of the kitchen. The food is delicious , simply yummy!.||Sandy is always around and has this super energy and smile always. He and his wife Sendi are great host and will take good care of you.||On our time there we travelled to Rhine falls. UBER works there and it costs us 30-35CHF to reach the place through some scenic route the taxi guy took.|We were trying to book a taxi to airport the next day, the local taxi guy they asked was charging around 80-100chf to the airport. we were not sure about UBER at 0600 in the morning. But to our luck it worked well. The taxi from hotel to airport costs us 40CHF. So point being make sure you have uber with you, since at Rafz that's your best friend.||Around the place there is a Botanical Garden and a cafe.||So if you want to live in a small beautiful quiet town, with absolutely no noise and experience something different then Rafz...

We were very disappointed with the hotel to say the least. Only after checking in did we try and read the bad reviews and found that there were consistency in the complaints and we faced all of them and some more.||||First of all, the hall ways were reeking. ||Second of all the bathroom and toilet floors were very sticky. Only the day after we figured we had to stand in ankle deep soapy water while showering. The lady Sophia says this is a recurring problem as the plumbing is not done well in the old building that it is. But was able to clear up quite a lot of the clog by the next day with some chemical solution. She says rooms 4 to 9 have this issue always. So beware.||Third and the most important of all, the sole purpose of booking a hotel during travel which is to have a good nights sleep was lost. We were given two single persons bed and a small couch for a double persons bed. A thin box spring mattress was placed on the couch and no foam mattress was provided. So you felt the metal and springs and its better to sleep on the floor instead like some of the guests had previously done. ||When we raised the issue, the lady simply said she cannot provide another mattress and this is all she had. Later she goes on to explain herself that she rents this building along with the furnishing from someone else. ||In the end we didn't see our problem being fixed nor addressed in any way but only some anonymous person being blamed. Later we also found several reviewers having pointed out the same.||Four, there is a kitchen with a fridge. Like some reviewers have noted, there is no cutlery, so heat source, nothing. The lady was helpful though in lending us...
