WE GOT A MIDDLE FINGER FROM THE OWNER! This week we went to park our campervan and Marcel came to "help" us. From the start, he was rude. The entire parking lot was empty, and he was being difficult for no reason, constantly trying to force my nearly 8-meter campervan to move. His motorcycle ended up against the doors, preventing us from getting in and out. He eventually started talking disrespectfully and louder so we left. 0 service and very rude. The next day, we encountered him on the road with his black and green crossover. He gave us the middle finger and drove off. Very cool, Marcel. Our friends and we stayed at Gasthof Engleberg from 26-28 Aug 2013. We were immediately met by the friendly owners, Michel and Christien, and felt like family from then on. They speak perfect English, which made our stay especially comfortable. Michel was the chef and prepared exceptional meals, and Christien made delicious desserts. They gave us directions to some nice day trips as well. Our rooms were very clean and comfortable. The only thing we could have used was a bar of soap, but we made out OK. The Gasthof is up a narrow and steep road, but the stay and view and friendly atmosphere were well worth it. If we go back, we'll definitely stay...

Le couple qui tient le lieu n’est pas très agréable concernent l’accueil. Ce qui est paradoxale car c’est un hôtel et un restaurant demeurent un lieu d’accueil. L’hôtel: simple, rustique et propre. Nous avons beaucoup aimé. Le restaurant: cher et pas bon du tout. Nous avons eu une fondue pas bonne du tout. À côté de nous une table de 4 personnes a commande une raclette. Raclette très chère servie seulement avec des pommes de terre. Les portions de fromage à raclette sont vraiment radines… en plus la table a du commandé de la charcuterie pas bonne du tout comme ils nous ont dit à la fin du repas. Car nous avons échangé sur nos repas respectifs et étions d’accord sur le fait que le restaurant n’était pas du tout chaleureux, bon et gourmand et surtout cher ! La fondue est aussi servie dans une sorte de contenant en fer pas très joli… (voir photo) même qui ne nous a pas donné envie de la terminer. Pour conclure je ne recommande pas le lieu car Marcel et sa compagne sont des hôtes moyen et de mauvais goûts. Je le permets d’écrire ce commentaire car je suis moi même propriétaire d’un bistrot en Bourgogne et je trouve inadmissible d’être accueilli de la sorte. J’espère que les propriétaires prendront compte de ce commentaire et souriront aux prochains visiteurs car la région est superbe.

I stayed for just one night, but I have to say the hotel staff were extremely kind, helpful, and friendly. The food was very tasty, and although the breakfast was simple, the place has a lot of charm. A big plus is the balcony in the room – the view is absolutely beautiful. I truly enjoyed my stay and highly recommend this place!

Ha sido el primer alojamiento ya en Suiza durante nuestro viaje. Se encuentra bien situado, aunque el acceso tiene unas cuantas curvas 😜. Las vistas son preciosas con las montañas de fondo, la habitación de madera, cuidada, con su baño individual, es acogedora con su terraza para desayunar viendo el paisaje. La anfitriona aunque coincidimos poco con ella bastante amable a nuestra llegada. Quizás una sugerencia de mejora sería una pequeña neverita, para poder meter la comida que se suele traer, quitando ese detalle es un alojamiento que calidad-precio es muy bueno, lo recomendaría para ir visitando Suiza 🇨🇭

I stayed for just one night, but I have to say the hotel staff were extremely kind, helpful, and friendly.
