A cozy spot in the middle of town

I was in Rotkreuz for a night and fancied something Swiss, so I thought I'd give it a try as the hotel was in the midst of a Belgian week. I had visions of chunks of meat dipped in cheese which is perfect for a lo carb diet. I was quite happy to find no English version of the menu, which made me think I'd hit the nail on the head for some Swiss cuisine and reached for Google translate, to decipher the menu, whilst the very friendly bar and serving staff practiced their English. It wasn't as Swiss as I'd hoped. I ended up with Beef Stroganoff, which is Russian, however, I was assured all the ingredients were Swiss. The Swiss clearly raise very happy cows. The food was lovely, the wine was a great tasting Merlot, the service was excellent. I have a few trips to Rotkreuz scheduled, so I'll be back with my fingers crossed for fondue and...

One of the most excellent experience I had when it comes to service, quality of food and beverages, and the hospitality displayed.

Great time connecting with the owner and her lovely puppy too and the generous sharing of the lady made us feel super welcome and home.

I had ( shared with my partner)a mixed salad, tomato soup, half chicken and cor don bleu.

In the end we picked two lovely desserts out of the dessert tray that got displayed by our table. ( great marketing by the way!!! We appreciate it!!!)

It was such a good evening and good experience for us, the quiet corner we picked was perfect for a chill evening!!!

Neuer Pächter, da haben wir gedacht als Rotkreuzer schauen wir uns das an. Es hatte 3 grössere Gruppen a 6-8 Personen und sonst normal besetzt. Sehr viele Personen im Service für die wenigen Tische draussen. Aber es ging von Anfang an zu lange. 20min bis ich mein Getränk bestellen konnte. Essen war OK, Bruschetta und Trüffeltagliatelle, Fiachknusperli unbestimmter Herkunft. Die Servicekraft wusste es selbst nicht genau. Auf der Karte keine Deklaration zu den Speisen. Wir und die Damen am Nachbarstisch mussten unendlich warten um Getränke nachzubestellen, die eine ist aufgestanden und hat jemand geholt. Alle aus dem Service sind rumgestanden und haben gequatscht. De Chef stand bei Kollegen, die zu Gast waren. In meinem 2. Amaretto Sour war Whiskey, Ausrede, die Flasche stand an einem anderen Ort. Als ich die Rechnung bestellte haben wir ehrlich unsere Meinung kund getan. Dann hiess es, ja es sei viel los gewesen, haben wir gesagt aber, nein, ihr seid rumgestanden und hat gequatscht und nur auf die 2 Tische mit den vielen Gästen geschaut. Die anderen Tische waren schon lange her. Dann sagte sie, ja nach Stress ist man müde und sieht s halt nicht so. Wir haben für 180.- konsumiert zu Zweit. Die anderen Gäste bekamen zur Rechnung einen Limoncello. Wir logischerweise nicht. Hätte man auf unsere Kritiken angemessen reagiert, wäre die hier nicht online.
