La Chaumaz — Restaurant in Russin

I am very disappointed. It should have been a great time. Environmental context is nature and cost; table is outside in a sunny garden. But..... Service is far too long. Staff of 3 got easily overwhelmed with 14 tables.

We had to ask for the menu, had to ask twice water - kids said I am thirsty- within 30 mn.

Food is spanish-like menu; nothing fancy all easy going. Good food not exceptional.

Loads of people passing around with motorcycles who don’t care making noise and polluting. Though this is almost the only place opened after COVID-19.

Had to wait hours for the bill. Blimey we spent 3 hours in a restaurant. Hopefully was sunny and the kids can play in garden.

But shit that...

Although the meat that we ordered was good, I feel obliged to leave a bad review as no meal is pleasant if flies are landing non-stop on your food, cutlery, drinks, etc. We had to rush to eat our food so we could get out quickly as it ended up being disgusting to stay sitting down there. Other customers around us were upset, too. I prefer to refrain from posting a picture we took of the bread basket plagued with flies. I would not come back and I would not recommend the place, even though the service and the food were alright. To me, an ambiance like this is unacceptable for a restaurant charging 44 CHF/pax for...

One can understand that a restaurant is overwhelmed suddenly because of nice weather on a Sunday afternoon. But this is nkt a restaurant, at the maximum a bad cantine with à nice terrasse We order fish and pasta It arrived without cutterly Drinks were never served The pasta overcooked, the sauce was supposed to be morille and chanterelle, only chanterelles but no morilles....
