Berggasthaus Mostelberg — Restaurant in Sattel

After waiting 40 minutes without being allowed to order food I politely asked which was the waiting time, to decide to go back to ski or wait. A very rude waitress told me that they were overloaded, and told me it would take 3 h. Such treatment did not correspond to what was asked or the tone I used. I then asked to speak with the owner and within 5 minutes our food was ordered and served. I think this waitress needs some training on customer service, and even if the food later came fast and was ok it is disappointing to have to ask the owner to get served. Will choose another...

The Berggasthaus Mostelberg served up some of the worst food and service I've ever experienced. Total liability and rip-off best describe this place. The Schnitzel I ordered was tough as old boots and certainly able to withstand adverse conditions such as human consumption. Furthermore, I really didn't know French fries could be ruined beyond the point of recognition. All in all CHF 36 incl. a beer is nothing short of daylight robbery and the service was slow and not very polite at all. Avoid at all costs, unless you're a huge fan of severe indigestion and G_d only knows...

Considering its position, up a mountain in a high tourist location, prices were mostly reasonable and most serving sizes of food we saw seemed great. Though frappes priced at 8.50CHF were quite small for the price. Coffee was nice, view was great, staff were friendly. This place gets very busy on a nice Sunday afternoon, so you may have to wait for a table on the deck, but it is an enjoyable experience.
