Hotel Restaurant Bahnhof — Restaurant in Schüpfen

This hotel worked very well for us. We spent 5 nights here while visiting the area. We prefer not to stay in the center of large cities but wanted to visit Bern and surrounding areas. This was ideal. The hotel is located across the street from the train station and has a large free parking area. Stores are nearby and the hotel has a restaurant where we ate twice in the evening. The food was wonderful and we were very pleased with it.||We were warmly greeted and treated kindly throughout our stay. Thumbs up to the staff! We asked for extra pillows which they provided immediately.||The room is quite simple but was very clean had everything we needed. Pleae note that you will be climbing stairs to reach your room. There is a private bathroom with a nice shower. The room has a TV and the hotel has good wifi. There is no AC but the window opens, however when open there is quite a lot of street noise. The room has a small desk and two hardback chairs. Somewhere more comfortable to sit would have been nice, but this worked.||Breakfast was included in our room rate and, while the same each day, was very good. ||We booked directly with the hotel. The rate was very reasonable for Switzerland and was less than avertised on the booking sites.||If you need 5 stars or lots of extras this probably isn't for you. If you are looking for a clean place to sleep with breakfast each day, it may work well for you as...

The location was great. Direct across from the train station. There is also a micro shop where u can buy sweets, drinks, bread, cornflakes, marmelade etc. The food in the restaurant was very good and the breakfast too. They are simple but really good and the staff is walking around friendly and they are smiling all the time. Therw is a huge parking lot besides the hotel. It's free of charge. The room I had was very small but was clean and had everything in it we (my dog and I) needed. The only thing why I had to take off one star is the mattress.
