Gasthaus Rössli — Restaurant in Schwende-Rüte

We truly loved our stay and would absolutely come back one day in the future.

Where do I begin? The room was spacious, clean, and felt incredibly homey. The view from the window was stunning, and we truly loved our 2-night stay. Parking is free and there was an extra fridge on the floor of our room where we could leave a few drinks. The women who worked here were amazing—so kind, helpful, and accommodating. It felt like a real community during meals, especially breakfast (which is included!). There were a lot of children playing and there was also a corner dedicated to children's toys! We also had dinner here, and they kindly made a small adjustment to one of the dishes for me to have the cheese horns with the schnitzel instead of the sausage!

It’s hard to say there was anything we didn’t like, as everything was lovely! If we had to mention something, just as a small suggestion, it might be helpful to add a note about the check-in procedure on the booking. Since there isn’t a traditional reception or lobby, it was a bit unclear when we arrived at 9pm. That said, a very kind lady greeted us and showed us to our room, which we really appreciated!

Very nice place to explore Alpstein!

Located near the lift to Hoher Kasten, and in 10 minutes driving distance to Wasserauen for Seealpsee hike. Be mindful of the lifts schedule, last ones operate around 5pm (in October).

The room (Doppelzimmer) was spacious and had a bathroom (which is not a guarantee for Gastuauses in general), and the food was all made of local produce.

The host was very nice and welcoming.

Caveat: the church across the street rings bells every 15 minutes even during night, and at 6 am they ring quite vigorously, so you might wanna...

Lovely lunch experience here! Very close to Hohen Kasten aerial cablecar. Lot of parking nearby. Very kid friendly space with a small kids playground, some rabbits, football net. Food was delicious! We got the schnitzel and the lentil patties in cream sauce and both entrees were very enjoyable. Service was excellent as well with the staff being very helpful and nice. Would highly recommend when...
