After a fantastic hike through the stunning Appenzell landscape, we stumbled upon what can only be described as the ultimate reward: Restaurant Ruhesite. Nestled perfectly along the trail back, this restaurant is a true hidden gem.

The moment we arrived, we were captivated by the spectacular views, which offered a breathtaking panorama of the surrounding mountains.

The experience only got better from there. The service was warm and attentive, making us feel completely at home. And the food? Simply spectacular.

CAUTION: DOGS FORBIDDEN Super disappointed. We went on a winter hike with our dog from Brülisau via Plattenbödeli, Ruhesitz back to Brülisau. Last time we had a great lunch at Plattenbödeli and we thought to give Ruhesitz a try. So after 2 hours walking around lunch time we got there and realized that they don't allow dogs inside. There was nothing mentioned on their website. Imagine our discontent. You can't expect people to sit outside with their dogs when it's only 2°c and not sunny. Man muss unterschreiben, dass man für den Zustand des Trottinetts selbst verantwortlich ist und der Vermieter keinerlei Haftung übernimmt für Unfälle, die aus Mängeln resultieren. Das ist dreist und völlig inakzeptabel. Wer etwas gewerblich vermietet, hat sich um den Zustand zu kümmern, und haftet auch für Unfälle durch Mängel. Nachtrag, um das klar zu stellen: Die Trottinetts waren in einwandfreiem, sichtlich gut gewartetem Zustand; das ist nicht der Punkt. Aber wer gewerblich etwas vermietet, haftet für den einwandfreien Zustand des Mietobjekts vor der Vermietung, und nicht der Mieter. Die gesetzliche Vorgabe sieht ganz anders aus: Der Mieter ist drauf hinzuweisen, dass er für selbst verschuldete Mängel und Unfälle haftet, aber nicht für Mängel VOR der Vermietung.
