A wonderful and scenic trail goes from either Sils or Furtschellas to this cosy hotel surrounded by mountains and forest. It feels as if you are far fetched from any town at all because it is so peaceful in this valley. Once you arrive at the hotel you can enjoy a wide variation of freshly cooked, seasonal and local food. The Bünder Gerstensuppe serves well as a quicke bite but also their main dishes look delicous. It's also possible to just come for dessert of course. The blueberry cake is highly recommended and one of the best I've ever eaten, so be sure to get a bite of that one.

My wife and myself ended up in hotel Fex in the carfree Fex Valley. We stayed for two nights and both agreed that this small hotel and its staff gave us the best hotel experience of our entire roadtrip. The food (both breakfast and diner) was excellent. Honest food, with the best ingredients - made with a passion. The homemade blueberry and apricot pies were stunning. But we found the best of all - the staff - they were so friendly, helpful and genuinely interested. Beds were just great and with the best views in the world. We will definately return to this fabulous place.

Some of the best part about this remote hotel was the journey getting there. We took a flint drawn by a horse from sils Maria. After an hour's drive In The moonlight, we we're greeted by friendly staff where we had fondue in the basement. I wasn't crazy about the Asian fondue but I absolutely love the classical cheese fondue. They had great little side dishes.Friendly owner. Great ambience and professional service.. Great for groups. Book well in advance. For more reviews and photos, follow me on Instagram. @Sirissima

The Hotel Fex is where you can find me when I am day dreaming. It is a place that is so dreamy, it is always in the back of my mind. It is safe and lovely.||The Hotel itself is a wonderful building, moved from St Moritz at the beginning of the last century. Now it sits at the back of the Fex Valley in one of the most divine places on this very planet. Having ones daily breakfast of local mountain cheeses, cured meats, fresh bread, organic jams and delicious muesli in the art nouveau dining room every morning while looking at the majestic landscape though the windows was the best way to begin the day one could ever imagine. As this is the case, one always marvels at the incredible 4 course meals the kitchen turns out ever evening in the same room. Always delicious and a treat after a day walking in the heavenly landscape. The rooms are absolutely lovely; they are a taste of the old fashioned sophistication of a proper Alpine Hotel. Sara and her staff are absolutely lovely. The property is run with the warmth of a home with skill of a great Swiss Hotel. I...

My husband and I took a horse drawn carriage from Sils to this amazing ‘out of the box’ little hidden gem. It’s an old farmhouse and the atmosphere, food, wine and service was exceptional. Firstly - the experience of being in a horse drawn carriage covered in blankets and furs and traveling through forest and valleys under a full moon was something out of this world. Then to be greeted with such warmth and to enjoy such culinary delights was a treat we will never forget. I had the ravioli which was home made and delicious (possibly a little more sauce was needed as it was a little dry) and my husband had a delicious beef broth. He also enjoyed the venison ragu which he said was divine. The manager here is so personable and engaging that you feel as though you are being welcomed into someone’s home. He gave my husband his own scarf (which we left at the hotel for him to collect) as his neck had been cold on arrival. It’s just indicative of the engagement and service level you experience here. Highly...
