A special place for special occasions. My wife and I thoroughly enjpyed our four-course meal prepared/finalised before our very eyes. I like the fact that it's not à-la-carte (much less waste, plus it means Erwin can really focus on sourcing the best ingredients on a daily basis), but it does mean having a chat with Mengia or Erwin when you book to see if they've decided what they're serving that particular day, or if you have particular dietary requirements, e.g. vegetarian / allergies, etc. One nice feature is the chance to go down to the wine cellar to choose the liquid accompaniment: a lovely touch (tip: the Gantenbein vintages from just a bit further down the Rhine valley the other side of Chur (i.e. almost local!) are...

Fantastic experience! Despite our terrible German the hosts were delightful, the food exquisite, and the attention to detail is outstanding. We waived our usual vegetarianism for this "surprise" menu as we knew it would be locally sourced and excellent. Would definitely come back, if I'm ever in the area, next time would love to stay upstairs to enjoy their divine bread for breakfast!! Highly...

Es hat auch eine ferienwohnung, welche sehr schön und gemütlich ist. Die wurde neu renoviert, hat aber den alten charme behalten. Ist mit einem Specksteinofen ausgestattet. Leider hat es in den zimmmern keine schränke, was etwas störend ist wenn man eine woche bleibt. Der Specksteinofen darf nicht selber befeuert werden, da kommt der vermieter 2x am tag zur etwa selben zeit in die Wohnung und macht dies, am morgen früh und am nachmittag. Wenn man nach etwas fragt was nicht so gedacht ist ist leider meist kein konsens möglich (wir hatten einen grossen kinderwagen, da gab es keine andere Möglichkeit den unterzustellen als ihn jedesmal über einen balkon in den schopf zu tragen, da es zu eng war zum stossen).
