If there is one restaurant, that I would strongly recommend when passing through Val de Travers, it's this one. In my experience, it's very busy at lunch hour during weekdays and often also during week-ends. I was lucky to get a table to have lunch this first Saturday of February and opted for a garlic feast, starting with snails and continuing with a steak accompanied by roasted garlic and garlic butter, all to charm the rest of the family when returning home in the evening. The restaurant serves a restricted number of dishes, well selected from local products and including a vegetarian choice. As you might expect, the drinks list is dominated by the local speciality, absinthe, that is not my cup of tea. The choice of wine is dominated by regional variants from the Neuchâtel district of high quality. Service is pleasant...

Bonsoir, Ce n’est point une habitude pour moi, de « juger » un établissement par ce biais, mais au vu du comportement d’un client faisant preuve d’un manque de respect et de bienveillance crasse, je me vois obligée d’apporter ici, mon soutien à la serveuse et à la patronne. Les tenanciers ont réellement pour plaisir de partager leur passion au travers de leurs mets♥️ Samedi soir, ils se sont retrouvés face à Monsieur Wirz, celui-ci faisant preuve de non-respect envers la serveuse et la patronne en les sifflant, et en se comportant d’une manière tellement désagréable, qu’il fait fuir les clients des tables adjacentes ! Il n’a pas hésité non plus à se faire remarquer en prenant à partie plusieurs individus au hasard, et cela d’une façon inconvenante ! Je trouve bien indélicat de sa part, de se permettre un commentaire comme celui publié ici, ne daignant même pas présenter des excuses ! Quelle indélicatesse ! High quality food and service. Very crowded during lunch time so if you have a short break, better to make a reservation and to order your meal ahead. Service is good and locations is beautiful. They have sitting space outside on the patio for summer time. "Must go" even just for an absint if you are in Val de travers: you will not be...

The meal was good especially steak. Risotto was too creamy and bland if you like it italian style, dont take it. The service was nice but food came out really slow so make sure you don’t have appointment afterwards. They have quite an interesting Absinth gimmick with the cold water in fancy tank like old time so you can mix it yourself.

Les goûts sont surprenant et savoureux! Quant au service tout était parfait, les serveurs sont chalereux, sympathiques, réactifs, professionnels et connaissent la carte par cœur! Quant à la Patronne Nora, c'est un amour de femme, aux petits soins avec sa clientèle et là aussi on sent la passion du métier avec pour seule objectif: que vous passiez une agréable soirée! Merci pour cette découverte, hâte de venir goûter les prochains plats du chef!
