Our second time here and we really enjoy the food and cozy ambience here. A must visit in the Walenstadt area 😊 There is a winter special right now where you can order dishes not normally on the menu - highly recommend visiting as soon as you can! We went around 1:30pm for lunch. We ordered katsu curry, tempura udon, tonjiru, and unagi vorspeisen. For drinks, we had the macha latte (with almond milk) and affogato. Everything we ordered was delicious and well-prepared. I would not change anything about the meal.

If you are around the Walensee region and would like to get some authentic Japanese food, COME TO THIS PLACE. The food is delicious, prepared with care, by a real Japanese family. In the photo attached, it's a Bento box. Since it's a small restaurant, it's advisable to reserve a table in advance for dinner. For lunch, it's not that much of a problem.

Sehr tolles japanisches Restaurant.

We had to wait a half hour before we could place an order. After asking for the vegetable gyoza the waitress asked whether it is important for it to be meatless. We were waiting another 20mins and then asked how long it’ll take for the food. The waitress said ‘the others have to eat first’, I then asked to speak to the owner and she apologized and offered some starters while waiting for the mains. She brought 3 plates of gyozas for the 3 of us. We originally ordered 1 to share. 30mins later the mains arrived. The bill was 145 for 2 mains, 4 starters (whereof we actually only ordered 2) and non alcoholic drinks. We raised the issue with the waitress but she didn’t say much other than it is what it is. Honestly, if you offer additional starters because your clients have to wait 1 hour, don’t put it...

Unexpected and outstanding by many merits! A true hidden gem of "umami" kitchen and high standards of sushi. This wonderful place has a very simple step-up - almost a modest one, but I imagine it as very "japanese way", harmonically settled into swiss sub-urbs. What to expect is a prism of european culture (of course) but to the very high-quality and original taste. Did I mention passionate execution? Well this is definitely a part of the experience. Also try variations with Wagyu - remarkable! Eating here for almost 2 years now - always looking forward to my next...
