Restaurant Liebenau — Restaurant in Zell (ZH)

I am giving 4 stars to this restaurant because the people were so accommodating and kind. When we stopped for lunch, we didn't see the sign saying bookings only and yet they still didn't turn us away. As a result of us not booking and arriving past 1pm We had only one choice which was schnitzel and chips with a salad. The salad was fresh and the sauce wasn't homemade. The schnitzel and chips were cooked well, and the portions are huge. The place is immaculate. It has an outside seating area with two wooden sculptures from Alien and Lord of the Rings, which make it a talking point. We would stop again but we wouldn't book especially to eat there....

Wir waren mit 20 Leuten zu Gast bei Doris und Rolf im Restaurant Liebenau. Das Essen war einfach fantastisch! Noch nie so einen guten Hackbraten gegessen! Grosse Portionen und ein sehr gutes Preis- Leistungsverhältnis. Fast noch wichtiger: Wir alle haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, was vor allem an dem unkomplizierten und familiären Umgang mit den Gästen lag. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder und können das Restaurant Liebenau absolut weiterempfehlen!!! Unbedingt mal...

Es ist nun schon dass zweite mal dass wir angerannt sind. Das eine Mal gab es eine eingeschränkte Menukarte. Trotzdem auf der Website und im Aushang vor Ort die Öffnungszeiten bis 21:00 angegeben sind, haben wir um 18:30 nicht mehr zu essen bekommen. Wirtepaar war anwesend. "Heute haben wir früher zu.. ist halt so." Wir wären wohl auch die einzigen Gäste gewesen. Wir sind auch extra dahin gefahren. Seit dem Wirte Wechsel scheint es doch recht locker...
