Margaux Restaurant — Restaurant in Zizers

It is pretty much the only restaurant in the Landquart Outlet Shopping area. At the time of our visit there was sufficient seating available. There is a fair choice of food but the standard of food is average , especially for the higher price one pays. The waiter that greeted us at the door was friendly which is always a great start, however we were served by 3 different staff there after and they were not as friendly. I thanked the waitress who cleaned our table and I never received a smile , thank you or acknowledgement of my comment. Most places when I change the price of the bill to Add a ‘tip’ the waitress/ waiter always says thank you , nothing was said to us here. I appreciate language barriers but I was spoken to in Italian - this is the German part of Switzerland, So German , Swiss German or English would have been great, Italian was really not helpful. I was really expecting’an upper level ‘ of service considering the environment and location we were in. The pulled pork burger was average and quite small for the price. I was expecting more of a ‘punch full of flavours’ for the smoothie. I like to be honest with my reviews and I don’t like to be negative but I have to be fair I was expecting far more flavoursome food because of the setting and the price. Food was expensive and low quality. Our table got the Burger, Club Sandwich, and Caesar Salad. The burger was skinny and clearly prepackaged, and overcooked. The club sandwich was made with 4 pieces of processed toast with processed cheese on each slice of bread, the whole affair drenched in curry-mayo. The salad was almost acceptable but for some strange reason there was a huge pile of bacon strips on top of it. The coffee afterwards was fine, nothing to write home about. The whole meal (with only water as a beverage) cost us approximately 100 CHF, which is unreasonable for the quality of the food. I went twice for lunch and once for coffee in August, and every time was a wonderful experience. The place itself is beautiful — elegant yet cozy, with a very welcoming atmosphere. The food is delicious, well-prepared, and beautifully presented. What really makes the difference, though, is the staff: knowledgeable, professional, and incredibly kind. The waitress who looked after us was attentive to every detail, always making sure we felt comfortable and at ease. She truly elevated the whole experience.
