frankly speaking, i was abit worried about eating at this place because of the sheer amount of vegetables that i saw in other google reviews. as someone who doesnt really like to eat vege but still eats basic veg like cabbage and spinach, this place was absolutely delicious. for every adult, you must order a set that comes with a soup, all those fresh ingredients, a side of meat and either maggie noodles or rice. for children you can also order a set or just share with an adult. all the soup base are actually pretty nice, we ordered milk, mala, nanyang curry and herbal soup base, all will be nice if youre okay with it. i would highly recommend the milk and mala soup base bcz individually it was bombz and its a really nice combination. if youre getting the milk i would say get 2 of it because its really nice, my family kept taking mine so i kept topping it up and at the end it was diluted :( very nice nonetheless! theres a free drink and dessert, the drink was a combination of wintermelon and oolong/red tea(veryyyy nice) while the dessert was real aiyu jelly(it was tasteless cuz its the real deal). overall we devoured it and really enjoyed this meal. do remember to book a day and timeslot with them! we contacted them through...
Read moreA very nice and filling vegetarian hotpot in the foothills of Alishan! Even though reservation was needed, we were lucky to come early for dinner, and there were still some supply of vegetables available (they grow their own, hence each day's supply is limited). Thanks to the boss's hospitality, we were able to get seats.
The vegetarian set cost $499, which consist of a (1) humongous bowl of vegetables, mushrooms and tofu, (2) rice or instant noodles (3) drink and (4) the famous taiwanese aiyu jelly for dessert - which by the way isnt sweet but I think thats the original taste. Be warned that those with small appetite will not be able to finish it! But you can takeaway the uncooked vege if you find yourself in that situation. There's two kinds of vegetarian soup base for your hotpot - pumpkin soup (a bit creamy and I guess they add some cream in it), or the herbal 藥膳 soup. Both equally delicious.
The best way to enjoy the meal is to take it slow, go with the mountain vibe and chill with the hotpot till...

First of all, you pick your soup base and there are 6 good selections. My wife chose the herbal one and I chose the pumpkin/milk one. They were both very good. Then you picked your hot pot ingredients. The popular ones are vegetable lovers, meat lovers or meat/seafood mix. Basically they all have some meat, seafood and vegetables but the owner will give you more vegetables if you select veggie lovers.
All vegetables were grown by the owner’s mom and we could taste the freshness. There were a huge variety of vegetables and they were all great! The meat, seafood were also very very good.
Best of all, the owner was very nice and friendly. A super nice and sincere guy!
If you are around the area, don’t...
