This is a famous and popular restaurant on the way to Alishan. It's impressive how many people visit this remote place for a meal. Because of its popularity, I highly recommend making a reservation via Line in advance to ensure you get a seat. The restaurant offers a free parking lot, which is convenient. However, be careful as the road leading to it is quite steep. We ordered a four-person set menu featuring Aboriginal cuisine. The BBQ was excellent—not only was the portion generous, but it was also incredibly savory. I particularly enjoyed the tofu, which had a firm and silky texture, perfectly complemented by a hint of wasabi. On the other hand, the cabbage was a bit tough and not very tender. The dining area is outdoors with no air conditioning, but it's very well-ventilated. Even on a scorching hot afternoon, we felt cool and comfortable. Just a heads-up, the restaurant only accepts cash. Overall, we had a...
Read moreThe food and views were excellent. There's a minimum per person charge - I think something like $350 NTD, but with 4 kids I think they gave us some leeway. Still too much food. Lots of veggie dishes, deep fried tofu cubes with wasabi dipping sauce, rice cooked in bamboo stocks, pork, pheasant (I think) shrimp, fish, soup, aiyou jelly for dessert, and iced black tea to wash it all down. We took a lot of food back with us. The views from the dining deck were spectacular - over tea fields with the mountains as backdrop. Atmosphere was great and decor was tasteful. We made reservations beforehand and was able to find street parking close to the restaurant. Otherwise they do have a parking lot but it's a bit of a huff up to the restaurant (and after bagging Yushan Main Peak the day before, no one in our party of 9 wanted to do any...
Read moreThis restaurant offers great view and serves good coffee. They have a set menu which costs $200 which I suggest everyone trying. At the time I already had a meal before coming here so I just got the a cup of coffee and the grilled aboriginal pork, which was delicious but made me regret not getting the set menu. As I was leaving I chatted with one of the cook who spoke perfect English. She explained to me a lot about the aboriginal culture, and one of the desserts they served here, which was also on the set menu. At that point I really regret not getting the set menu.
Anyways the moral of the story is to get the set menu even if you're full because you will...
