Room is what you would expected if you want to use the homestay as your base to visit Alishan National Forrest. I just wish there was a nice window looking out to the mountain because we sorta stuck in the homestay for a full day because of the typhoon. Now let's talk about the positives, the Host, Danny and Dora, made our trip enjoyable when it would have been a disaster. First of, Agoda gave us some mixed up information so we ended up at Tea Homestay in a different town outside of Chiayi rather than Alishan Township. Secondly, during our trip, a typhoon causes land slide and flood so once we found out we are at the wrong homestay, we cant even book taxi or grab to go up to Alishan township. Once we established communication with the host, Dani took matter in his own hand and sent a driver and a car to pick us up. I think the cost was more than normal but he told us to pay the normal rate and absorbed the difference. During our stay, Dani was very kind and do what he could to make us feel comfortable. We were able to squeeze in a few sight seeing after we arrived and retaining the driver Dani set us up with. She is an experience Alishan tour guide so we were grateful to be able to do a few things while being safe. He upgraded our room to 3 beds so our 2 kids can have their own bed and my wife and i have our own. He even drove us around in his own car so we can go lunch/dinner or anywhere around the area. On our departure, the bus services to Alishan also shut down and Dani again came to the rescue and secure a car and driver to take us back to the HSR to go back to Taipei. Dani and Dora, thank you for being amazing host. Although the weather did not cooperate, we enjoyed our stay and content with the things we were able to do in Alishan township. We will visit...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying at "See You Soon," a charming minsu in Leye Village, Alishan. Hosted by the warm and welcoming Dany and Dora, this minsu offers a unique blend of comfort and hospitality. Conveniently located just a 30-minute drive from the Alishan National Park visitor center, it provides easy access to the park's stunning landscapes.
Unlike the older hotels within the national park that suffer from dated infrastructure, "See You Soon" stands out with its modern, clean, and well-equipped facilities, including a heater for those chilly nights. Dany and Dora generously provided a variety of drinks and snacks both in the rooms and common areas, featuring traditional Alishan tea, which was a delightful touch.
The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the sunrise view from our balcony. We spent a serene morning at the tea station, a cozy setup with a small coffee table and four chairs, sipping Alishan tea while taking in the breathtaking scenery.
Overall, I highly recommend "See You Soon" to anyone visiting Alishan. It’s the perfect retreat for a peaceful and comfortable stay, with the added bonus of experiencing the genuine hospitality of...
Read moreGreat place for the Taiwanese homestay experience (10/10 recommend doing so when traveling in Taiwan) and Alishan tea - you can do a tea tasting downstairs. They have fluent English and French speaking staff, making this a great place to stay for foreign travelers (when they're able to come again to Taiwan) and Taiwanese-Americans who may not be fluent in Chinese back during COVID since the Alishan area isn't the easiest to travel in. ||||A great alternative to stay in compared to the places in Alishan park which are overpriced and generally not great. Wish I booked a two day stay instead for more time to explore tea fields, but I had limited time off work. Rooms are spotlessly clean and obvious care and love put into it by the family who runs it, three generations living together. Hallways have the sweet smell of tea. Comfortable place to rest before (nice beds!) and after long hikes. Walking distance of view of sunrise over tea fields and sunset to see the famous ridiculously beautiful...
