I had a great time learning how to make and cook lei cha (pounded tea). The staff taught us the process, first demonstrating how to pound the ingredients, then letting us try it ourselves. It takes about 5-10 minutes to pound it into a paste that can be mixed with water. It was definitely a fun and interesting experience!
The shop is located in an area with several lei cha shops to choose from. I chose this one because the house looked cute and traditional—not too new, but not too old. It has a well-maintained, authentic feel without being completely renovated.
Apart from their tea, what I really loved and enjoyed was their mochi—it’s one of the best I’ve ever tried and goes well with the drink.
