As a non-Japanese/ not owners’ friend type of customer, I strongly not recommend you to visit this bistro. Tbh the food was not bad, but the dining experience was terrible AF. I had waited for a plate of sashimi for more than an hour(not joking) and 2 fried chicken wings for 30mins. To make things worse, during the waiting period the chief was chatting with his friends but left us Wait till he finish his conversation. Maybe this place is the only Japanese Izakaya you can find in the east coast/ Jinzun area, but you sure don’t need to down grade your standard for this unpleasant service offered by YaSu. Last but not least, Taitung is a chill place with easygoing vacation mood, but as a paying customer who expect to be fed, chief/ owner should make customers chill and happy but not the opposite...

It’s a long wait for the food and there is no menu. He offered us a set meal for NTD 500 per person... but trust me, IT’S WORTH THE WAIT AND THE MONEY! Everything was so delicious!!! The chef puts extra care in handling and preparing the food. The meal that was offered to us had fish, chicken, sashimi, salad with mashed potatoes, steamed pork, and a bowl of rice in it. Wait for a while (30 mins I think) but it’s fine cos we have cold drift beer! And it’s totally worthy of waiting, food was amazing! We had taro sashimi, taco with fresh perilla, bbq fish ( I think it’s the best bbq fish I’ve ever had), fried chicken with mustard mayo, and chicken-based fish soup, and the price is ONLY NT$500 per person.
