船言漁村料理 — Restaurant in Hengchun

船言漁村料理, which means "Chuanyan Fishing Village Cuisine," is a charming little restaurant conveniently located on the main street, making it an ideal spot for a relaxed evening. On our first night in Kenting, we decided to get takeout from here, which was a seamless experience. One of the staff members speaks good English, and they even provide an English menu, making the ordering process much easier.

The fried rice was exceptionally delicious, perfectly cooked with a great balance of flavors. The fried squid was also a standout, crispy and flavorful, a true delight for seafood lovers.

The prices are quite reasonable, providing good value for the quality of the food. Despite the restaurant being quite full when we visited, the waiting time was around 25 minutes, which was acceptable given the circumstances.

However, one aspect that didn't sit well with me was the presence of shark dishes on the menu. Personally, I am not a fan of consuming shark due to environmental and ethical concerns.

This restaurant is no frills. Upon first entering the place I was a bit underwhelmed by the restaurant and wondered how good it could be. The service came out fast after we ordered and the food was so flavorful and amazing. I ordered the basic stir fry cabbage and to my delight the cabbage was full of veggies and herbs like cilantro and mushrooms. It was incredible. We also ordered the sashimi appetizer and it was so fresh and tasty. Lastly we ordered the seafood noodles which usually I would not go for because I’m not a fan of clams. Great seafood place near Sail Rock. They had a large tour group there and asked us to come back later, so we crossed the road to go see the sunset first.
