Zhu Zhan Restaurant — Restaurant in Lugu Township

This restaurant is not on the main road that leads to 溪頭. It is on a smaller side road that runs parallel to the main road. But for those who know this place, they know it's well worth taking a road less traveled.

We found this restaurant by chance because I missed a turn. And ever since, we've been to this restaurant about 5 times during the past 2 to 3 years. We always find time to come to this restaurant whenever we visited central Taiwan. We just drove from Taichung to this restaurant, ate and went back. We didn't even bother to visit 溪頭 which is almost all visitors go if they come to this area.

Food is excellent! Every time, we always ordered 4 to 6 varieties of 野菜, and 2 to 3 pork-based dishes like 控肉 and 鹹豬肉. We have yet to eat an entree that is bad. They are all delicious, and at worst, not bad.

My relatives, who goes to 溪頭 hiking almost weekly and they've tried many other more famous restaurants along the main road, also think this Zhu Zhan's dishes taste much better than those...

This place is fantastic! The food is incredibly fresh and flavorful. While you browse the menu, enjoy some complimentary plum tea. I highly recommend the oolong chicken—absolutely delicious. Although it's a bit of a drive from our hotel, it was completely worth it. The green vegetables are also a standout, and we were pleasantly surprised with free sweet potato fries, which were a unique twist from the Taipei style. 野菜、山產，個人認為原味，越少調味越好，或許會偏清淡，因為是野菜山產。 以前來過數次，四周景點依序走過後（溪頭，杉林溪，清境，奧萬大，合歡山）。 隔了好幾年，再次造訪，菜單上的蜂蛹已經消失了，真可惜（老闆娘說抓不到）。 鱸魚兩吃（頭尾做成湯，中段魚身做清蒸），價錢依舊親民，現撈現宰，魚肉清甜，彈牙很鮮。（咱家貴妃不特愛湯品，所以能喜歡魚湯，已算99分。上桌時魚湯還在煮未熟，清蒸的也需要等一小會兒） 南投特有的山翡翠，口感很特別，一般店家野菜已經吃膩的朋友，試試，口感很不錯吃（忘記什麼花苞）。 咱家貴妃特愛東坡系列，這次點鮮筍扣肉，還是一樣很美味，筍脆甜，肉很有香氣（沾點醬汁，肉更棉，不澀不柴），軟嫩度剛好，鹹度剛好。 餐後甜點像以前一樣，招待，拔絲地瓜，上面灑的白芝麻比以前多，感覺更香一點，貴妃早年以前第一次吃，就愛上了。（從此愛上這道，很多夜市做的，其實都不怎麼樣……台南有賣炸蟋蟀的那個夜市，做的還不錯） 每桌提供的茶品-洛神花茶，很夠味。 竹棧的餐點品質依舊，100分。 （插曲：裡面已經有一組客人快用完餐，我們用餐的同時段，陸續來兩組客人，一組6-7個。另一組跟我們一樣兩隻小貓。有趣的是，無意中聽到另一組兩個人竟然要點鱘龍魚，嚇壞寶寶了，一魚隨便4-5吃，也要不少人用餐，才有辦法點這道魚。服務人員應該是兒子，以前是老闆娘點餐，服務人員很耐心的解釋，並建議兩個人改點鱸魚或鱒魚做成兩吃，比較剛好。）給個讚。 客人少時，並不會因為店家自己方便就不給挑桌位，帶位時還會特意桌跟桌之間隔1-2桌。 幫平反一下。出菜快（一直都很快），很多菜，當然是現成的（扣肉之類，哪一間店是現滷?） 魚類，野菜類，現煮現炒。 一魚兩吃，380元，個人認為算是非常親民。 話說，早期花蓮的月盧，不也在深山？路還不是兩線道，是一線（別說要會車，停車場更小，消費更高），現在換經營者，店改在市區。會說用完餐，路黑……（抱歉，是沒...
