Yesterday I visited Mayfull Fine Foods for the second time. I specially went back for a Leg of Lamb and "Spring (Baby) Chickens. I was very happy to find both the first time, and may I add, we enjoyed eating both. So we went back and bought another Leg of Lamb but the chickens looked very "strange." (A funny color and so small that my husband thought it reminded him of a bird.) The reason why I initially visited the shop was to buy Oxtail. Read moreThis is a beautiful, clean, store with many wonderful products. I would shop there more often, and buy more, spend more except the people selling are very aggressive. Today I could not get out of the store fast enough because the man in the tea department would not leave us alone. We would have spent money on steaks, seafood, much more, but we did not have a chance to look without being bothered. We told the man in the tea department no thank you twice, and then he still bothered us when we were in line. Read moreThis is a good market to buy products to make for yourself but not one to buy ready made food. Prices aren’t obnoxious but are a little high. This is to expected for imports since Taiwan has pretty high tariffs.
It does stock some products you can have a hard time finding elsewhere in Taiwan. I usually buy just horseradish here since the other places that used to carry it no longer do. This is an issue with Taiwan in that you might find an imported product one time and never see it again.
It isn’t the fault of this store but it is something to be aware of in Taiwan.
