Read moreOverall an overrated restaurant because of its tranquility and secluded location which is not totally worth the time and spending. A fine dining wanna-be failure. Let’s talk about food first. The creativity and ingredient is applauding worthy but the taste is lacklustre due to its plain flavour. The descriptions of dishes are way much better than their flavours and taste so quite disappointing. Services are the highlight of the day - superficial hospitality. All the waiters and waitresses are trained well to run through their processes but very mechanical and lack of warmth. When we arrived, we got three separate tables at the end of the restaurant for a group of 12 which already started way off. When we asked for a big table so that we can stay together we were quickly moved to a new one - good service. However, given that the big table wasn’t ready so we were just chitchatting when the waitress was setting up the table. No one was looking at her but she said “can you all move outside without staring at me so that I can do my job” - wow what an attitude that threw us off!! Atmosphere wise it’s alright - good set up however flying insects are a bit annoying. Not worth the driving after they moved to the current location. The previous location was way much better and closer. Not sure whether this is the reason why the...

I'm really disappointed by the food and service here. I came here for the Zen atmosphere. But I don't think Zen fits in restaurant. The noise from customers destroyed the intended calmness. Then the waitress was quite rude. She couldn't speak clearly but was impatient when you asked her to repeat. Then is the food. It's so plain and boring that I seriously doubt how the restaurant survived for 20 years in such a competitive market in Taiwan. The location is also super difficult for travellers without a car. I spent 700 Taiwan $ to come here from Taipei and 700 to go back. The bench is super low with a hard surface, making my legs uncomfortable. I'm a tiny Asian and even I had to crouch. And sitting like that for 1.5 hours will definitely make you suffer. There are all sorts of bugs around. I got 4 mosquito bites within 10 minutes sitting down. My neck is still hurting with those big red itchy bumps. It's very time consuming. They asked you to come at 5PM, they started to serve food at 6pm, we finished at 8-ish pm. Then it took us 50 minutes of taxi ride to get back to hotel. The menu is fixed, hence if you have any food allergy, don't come. It feels more like tasting menu. One piece of each type. No...
