Amazing atmosphere, service and food ❤️ Craving for a delicious hotpot ? That is definitely THE place to go in Ruisui. Upon arrival, you will be charmed by the environment, a lot of plants, wooden outdoor sitting space with cosy decoration, wooden indoor as well, creating a homy feeling. The owner and staff are very nice, welcoming and provide thorough advice.
First order your choice of soup base and meat: I really recommend the mala and fresh milk one, which is just wonderful, seems like fresh cow's milk and mala spicyness are jus the perfect match. Then you can go inside pick your choice of mains (cristal noodles, rice, wheat noodles), sauces and condiments, and grab a fresh cup of lemon tea (unsweetened, yes, that's great!). All are available freely as you need.
If you're more the beer style or fancy any other drink, you will be advised to go to the 7-11 across the street, which is actually a good option : it has a very broad range of beers of all styles, from local craft brews (avoid the tomato plum one which is horribly sweet and unbalanced for a gose) to asian and import beers.
Then comes the plate of ingredients, with full advice on how to proceed. Everything was delicious, particularily the greens. Thanks a lot for...
Read moreTypically, it's hard to find a place that is light, refreshing and "good for your health", and not contributing to weight gain while on vacation, so I was glad to find this place and give it a try. If you're adventurous and like healthy organic food, this place is for you. The organic, wild veggies you get varies depending on what is available that season. I can't even name the vegetables in my pot. If you need meat, you definitely should find another place to dine. You do, however, have the choice of adding meat to your pot for an additional fee (beef, pork, lamb - in the order of freshness). I couldn't even chew the beef I ordered since it was so tough, but I'm okay with that, it serves as soup flavor enhancer for my pot. However, it'd be nice if the beef was tender enough for me to consume. The hot pot also comes with unlimited, self-serve rice, rice noodle, instant noodle, and lemon red tea. The owner was very friendly and easy to talk to. On our way out, we wanted to buy a bowl of rice to-go for when my kids wake up at 3:30 am (jet lag) to eat breakfast when, of course, everything is closed. She gave it to us for free even though we offered to pay. I definitely would come back if I'm ever in Taiwan and passing...
