聽雨軒 壽司鐵板（潼日式料理） — Restaurant in Shilin District

We had a company incentive dinner at Living Forest’s Sea Menu, and the seafood truly shone. Those oysters were bracingly fresh, and the sushi platter was a beautiful mix of perfectly sliced nigiri. When our boss surprised us with lobster, it arrived cooked just right and lightly seasoned to let its natural sweetness stand out.

The private room felt like our own cozy sanctuary—quiet, cool, and dimly lit—and easily accommodated our group of 12. Just note that the tucked‑away location might be a bit tricky without a driver.

The staff were polite and attentive, but the long pauses between courses tested our patience. At that price point, I would have hoped for heartier portions or an extra dish or two.

Hot pot plus Teppanyaki fusion served in mini glass huts. Possibly an acceptable solution for unfussy families with children but overall a fairly depressing effort.

Food was presented quite beautifully but the taste was poor, especially considering the price. The quality of the lamb was particularly questionable as it had quite an overpowering taste and smell.

The location is next to the main road so not the forest hut we had imagined although still a reasonably quiet area to eat. The huts look like a minimum effort and cost job. The huts do have air conditioning which might prove useful for some in the summer.

Note that the '$$' rating underplays the cost given the minimum charge of NT$1280 + 10% per person (major sticker shock for us).

When we made reservation, we asked for indoor seats. However the host with unfriendly attitude asked us to sit outdoor under the hot sunny noon, but we rejected. Then she told us that we can only be seated indoor for 1.5 hour while their official dining time is 2 hour. I don't understand which part of we have made an indoor reservation she didn't get... So I rated this restaurant 2 stars and decided to write the review later, magically the owner ran into our lunch requesting the reason for 2 star right away.
