What an unforgettable experience.

We got here around 19:30 on a weekday, after first having queued for over an hour at the supposed best sushi restaurant on Xiaoliuqiu, never getting in, and looking for a plan B.

This plan B turned out to be one of my favorite dining experiences in Taiwan.

You are asked to set an amount of money to spend per person (minimum 600$), and then the chef does his (amazing) thing. We went for 800$ pp, and got about 6 courses each. Every dish was more delicious than the last.

The sushi was to die for, and the squid sashimi in bonito sauce was maybe one of my favorite things I've ever eaten.

The owners are incredibly friendly and welcoming, even when you have no common language (that's what Google Translate is for).

I hope we'll be back one day, and if we are, we'll bring some Belgian chocolate! Xie xie for one of our best...

Wonderful! You push the door of this island'shidden Gem and you are taken to Japan. From the furniture to the chefs shoes, you are in total immersion. In this restaurant no menu, you just decide how much money you want to put in your culinary experience. We went there twice for lunch, my fiancee and I, and tried the 500/person and 1000/ person experience. Both were fantastic, with nobler product and a 10 course meal for the later option. Even after so many courses, you will feel relaxed and well. I recommend to reserve or to come early as they only have one couple table and one group table. Giving you this feeling of intimacy with the Chef. It will take 1h to 1h30 for this unique...

We showed up (group of 5) without knowing exactly what type of restaurant it was or that we needed a reservation and they still got us in even with it being thirty minutes before closing. I wouldn't recommend doing that but despite that they served us the best, most diverse, and interesting meal of our trip so far.

Everything was phenomenal, fresh, and the cook/host were exceptionally nice. Feels like a must visit restaurant if you come here!

We paid $800NT per person and got amazing value for that price. Each time we had something sat down at the table we thought there couldn't be more coming, but there always was (until we wouldn't of been able to eat more...

我先破題這次用餐的心得,有鑑於這家餐廳的老闆常會在這裡罵客人,所以我將我們此次用餐的完整過程與事件詳訴於下: !!!請大家一定要認真看評論,特別是店家回覆!!! 關於菜色: 1. 手工虱目魚丸裡面有包了一小塊的魚肚,算是全部菜品裡的亮點。 2. 旗魚排風味很濃郁,算是今日海鮮的亮點。 關於份量: 無菜單可以是300、500、1000、1500、2500,完全理解在食材上會因價位有很大的差別,但難道今天只付300,就該讓客人覺得吃不飽嗎? 經營一家餐廳,除了美味,讓客人感到飽足不是最基本的嗎? 就像一家航空公司,機艙裡裝潢得美侖美奐,但卻不載客人到目的地,客人買的是飛往歐洲的票,你卻只把他載到中國,然後你的回覆是,我們主打的不是要載你到目的地,而是我們的機艙很美,這樣對嗎? 也許老闆會嗆我不懂吃,但以本人過去的經驗,吃過米其林三星江振誠主廚的「RAW」,道道非常精緻,但餐中隨時都會補上現烤的熱麵包,讓食量較大的客人不至於餓著離開,宜蘭知名的無菜單鐵板燒「饗宴」,在上完八~十樣的海鮮肉品主菜後,都會再詢問是否需要準備櫻花蝦炒飯讓食量較大的客人有飽足感,我還吃過五家不同的無菜單日式割烹,價位有高有低,但從來沒有遇過吃完如此空虛的無菜單料理;Gordan Ramsey在Master Chef第六季的其中一集有講到關於份量的,建議老闆可以去看看... 還是你也覺得Gordan Ramsey不懂你經營餐廳的邏輯?! 如果你真的堅持你所謂的份量,那是不是你要在客人訂位時先強調,我們的份量不大,建議要吃東西墊肚子再來... 關於服務: 大家可以按照我的詳訴自行判斷這樣的服務是否OK,確實老闆沒有收服務費,所以就不多評論關於服務的部份。 關於態度: 客人給了回饋,其實是改進很大的助力,也住住化負評為正評,但看著你回覆每個給負評的客人,只想帶風向把客人講成無腦奧客,無論刀法再厲害,料理技術多好,做出來的食物也真的很難感動人,還是其實你是黑暗料理界的,那我就沒話說。 用餐經過: 電事話預訂時就知道是500以上「無菜單」的方式, 想說不要用最基本的,所以最後決定每人700的金額, 並在當天下午五點多去電告知我們的金額。 當天預訂19:30,19:25抵達後,前一組客人還在, 老闆娘請我們等一下,「因為他們不能趕客人」.... 終於等到19:45,老闆娘整理好桌子,請我們入座, 進去後,大家陸續使用廁所洗手,但發現洗手乳沒了, 同行友人跟老闆娘反應洗手乳沒了, 但老闆娘應該是開始協助準備餐點了, 所以並沒有去補充洗手乳,只是拿了酒精給我們噴... 因為只有一間廁所,輪流使用大概經過了十多分鐘, 這中間上了開胃的毛豆, 接著又過了十多分鐘,上了第一道沙拉(每人一盤) 沙拉用完後又過了十多分鐘, 上了第二道菜「烤松阪豬」(四人一盤) 用完後我們試著想詢問老闆娘今天有幾道菜, 老闆娘回答,這個我們要問主廚,她不清楚。 但主廚一直都忙著,我們也就沒有問了... 又過了十多分鐘, 上了第三道菜「烤劍旗魚排」(四人一盤) 吃完魚排後,我們感覺到很閟熱,雖然一直有聽到風聲,但感覺上只有送風, 所以我們向老闆娘反應,有點熱,能否將冷氣開冷一點, 我們得到的回覆是:「冷氣已經設定20度了」, 接著我們沒有看到任何人去調整溫度,(也許設定是在我們看不到的地方) 但至少體感上,我們一直都覺得閟閟的。 用完魚排後又過了15分鐘, 上了第四道菜「醋漬青花魚,青甘魚二個部位的生魚片」(八人一大盤、每個人大概是三-四片的份量) 上生魚片的同時,也上了「手工虱目魚丸湯」(一人一碗) 用完生魚片與湯,過了5分鐘, 上了最後的「溫泉蛋拌飯」(一人一小碗)與「西瓜」(一人一片), 結帳時,當時大家的心情其實還不到憤怒,就只是沒有飽足感, 所以我當下就有表達:「每一樣都很精緻,但對男生來說可能份量不太夠」 相信我,這是我的原話。 老闆娘回覆我:「我們本來就不是著重在份量」 就這樣每一個人帶著非常空虛的心情離開餐廳。 最後離開時,同行友人見到櫃子旁有一個很特別像是立燈的物品, 因為好奇其材質,所以去提了一下, 結果該物品的接合處就分離了, 老闆娘發現,趕緊請老闆來處理, 最後是老闆將它安裝回去。 結束後,因為大家真的沒有吃飽, 我們又在大街上找吃的, 每一個人都很疑惑為什麼都已經花了700, 竟然還吃不飽,友人決定上網評價與評論, 不看還好,一看評論才發現, 其實有很多客人有跟我們一樣的感覺,但在評論留言後, 店家的回覆非常令人傻眼, 罵人沒腦,不然就是罵人沒水準,不如去吃快炒之類的....

A unique experience! Small, quiet, tranquil. A bit hidden. They began by asking how much we wanted to spend. Once we stated our limit, we told them basic food preferences (we like sushi and meat). The duo then surprised us with 8 or 9 small dishes, beautifully presented. There is great care taken, and attention to detail, and the hosts are attentive and polite. Meals are served in quick succession. We had warm tea and white wine to drink. The experience is a must!

A unique experience! Small, quiet, tranquil. A bit hidden. They began by asking how much we wanted to spend. Once we stated our limit, we told them basic food preferences (we like sushi and meat).
