阿里山嘉義火雞肉飯 — Restaurant in Zhongpu Township

Southern Taiwan humidity is hot. But nobody does turkey hotter than this place. Our amazing tourist guide Thomas told us that is joint does the BEST turkey rice in Taiwan.

There’s no air conditioning here. It’s a hole in the wall joint so get into your shorts and tanks cause you’re gonna sweat. But it will be worth it once you try it out. Bring cash only. Incase you’re wondering you’re gonna eat really dirt cheap.

Omg the turkey was so flavorful. The juices were soaked up in the perfectly cooked rice. You can choose sliced turkey or minced turkey, same price. We got minced for kids. We also got a plate of local veggies. The plate of century egg hits different. It’s so light and delicious. Bamboo shoots were wholesome. Squid had a nice marinade and crunch with the ginger. Wow, what an amazing meal.

The owners did one thing right. Keep it simple and master your craft. I wish I can eat here everyday. I’m from Canada and all those plates on that table to feed 5 adults and a toddler for 26 bucks Canadian. Wow!
