If you want to enjoy fresh seafood caught by local fisherman , cooked on the beach by real lovely people then this is the spot. Zubi’s place is a total joy offering great food and activities powered by local knowledge. Her team John, Rogers ,Joaquin and Steve completely made our trip with there spirit, humour and desire to share. They were able to arrange custom excursions and activities in a super convenient way working with other locals rather than the controlled actives offered by the hotels. Snorkelling, lunch on a sandbank, visits to chole island and the blue lagoon and a sunset cruise to end all in a day and for a great and fair price. People and places like this make a holiday and have us looking forward to our return! Thank you Zubi and crew🙏💚🐋🐠🐟🐡🦀

Swahili Local Restaurant is a basic eatery located on the southwest side of Mafia Island. This place was a lifesaver, especially since there are few dining options outside of hotels in this area. Despite its simplicity, they do offer some wines. The restaurant sits right by the beach. However, be prepared for a wait of around 30-45 minutes for your food to be ready. You can also pre-order if you prefer not to wait that long. Additionally, there's a massage place near the restaurant. Their menu primarily features seafood, and you'll need to pre-order if you prefer chicken or other meats. The food was delicious, and prices were comparable to other dining spots in nearby resorts and hotels.

Yes what a nice place, we ate her twice and Zuby and Jacky were so nice. Food also much better than the hotel we were in. And they organize great trips! We did two and Zuby arranged everything well and when we forgot our wallet to pay for the day trip she said no problem I come by the next day, and we were on the other side of the island. Highly recommended.

Everything was perfect ! The food was awesome and abundant and the atmosphere was lovely. Zuby and her team were super nice and took such good care of us. Also she is very knowledgeable about the island and speaks English very well. The location on the beach is great and we had a bonfire to keep us warm in the evening. Also prices are totally affordable. We looked around a little bit and all the other restaurants we found were overly expensive, so we ate at Zuby’s every single meal we had on Mafia Island. We tried different things (grilled fish, prawns, lobster, beef mishkakis for main course and sides of soup, salad, homemade French fries, coconut rice) and they were all fresh and yummy ! For prawns, lobster and mishkakis it’s better to let her know a few hours in advance in case she doesn’t have them in stock, she will get them for you. On top of that, we could pay with a credit card. We were so happy with Zuby’s restaurant, we couldn’t recommend it...
