A nice place with a warm and welcoming ambiance and good enough food. We frequent it often, either for lunch, dinner or afternoon tea. Today, in a bit of a hurry, I stopped for takeaway cake. As always, I checked the variety available by the pizza counter and settled on slices of carrot cake. The waitress took the cake out of its little cupboard and went off to the kitchen, I assume to package it. I waited, and waited and waited! After about 10 minutes I went to enquire on the delay. As I was speaking with another waitress, my order emerged, squished in very small plastic containers with the lids pressed down and stuck on the icing but unable to close. The pieces of cake now looked a bit of a mess with icing smeared all over them and the containers. As I was in a hurry, I made a short comment of my dissapointment to the waitress about this and left. Getting home I served the cakes on plates trying to make them somewhat presentable. Sadly, with the first bite l knew we were eating stale cake. This was definitely not the usual moist carrot cake I have had on several occasions in the past...... It was dry to the point of some of the icing having solidified. Is this why the cake is taken out of sight to be presumably cut and packaged? Though I am sure I will go back to Blue Heron, I am also sure I will demand my cake order is cut and served on the counter, in front of me, and not in the back. Sad really when frequent, loyal customers, are cheated in this way. Sad when you find you lose confidence in what you are being served in one of your preferred restaurants. I visited Blue Heron with my work colleagues for a couple of hours, and it was such a refreshing experience. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere stood out—calm, cool, and very well put together. It felt peaceful without being dull, and the setting was just right for relaxing and enjoying some time away from the usual work environment.

The service was great throughout our stay. The staff were attentive, friendly, and made sure everything flowed smoothly without being intrusive. The drinks were good and served on time, and everything was nicely presented. It’s clear that a lot of thought has gone into creating a welcoming and comfortable environment.

What I appreciated most was the overall vibe of the place. It felt collected and well-organized, with a balance between quietness and liveliness that made it easy to sit back and enjoy the moment. Whether you’re going with colleagues, friends, or even on your own, it’s a spot that makes you feel at ease.

Overall, I really enjoyed my visit to Blue Heron and left feeling refreshed. It’s definitely a place I would recommend and one I look forward to coming...

We waited an hour and a half for our food. Only when we threatened to leave did they finally bring it. The foos was cold. Their excuse was they were serving a big group who were at a table next to us. Not only that, we asked the manager to tell the man who was sitting at the next table and smoking to move elsewhere and smoke since his smoke was coming in our direction. She said she would but never did. I had to finally get up and ask the man to move somewhere else to smoke. It was not a pleasant discussion since the man didn't want to move. Why should a customer have to go through such unpleasantness because the manager is afraid to confront a customer. I really liked The Blue Heron but was really disappointed in...
