A Hidden Gem on the Cliffs – Absolutely Perfect!

Arnold's bar on the cliffs is an absolute treasure. The place is incredibly well-kept, with a beautiful and welcoming atmosphere that immediately makes you feel at home. The food was outstanding — every dish was prepared with so much care and beautifully presented, you could feel the love in every bite.

The view from the bar is simply breathtaking. Watching the sunset from the cliffs was a magical experience we will never forget.

But what truly sets this place apart is Arnold himself. He took such genuine care of us, always making sure we had everything we needed and going above and beyond to make our stay special. He organized a Spice Tour for us, which was both fascinating and perfectly arranged. We had two private guides who gave us the tour in both German and Italian — that kind of attention to detail is rare and deserves a lot of respect!

We went to Arnoldis as a part of our Cheetahs Rock tour - we had an option to go to some fancy, western culture friendly hotel or this place and I am really happy we chose the latter. Arnoldis has a great view of the ocean, it's very romantic and secluded. Also, we tried spring rolls and had two rounds of it - delicious and made from fresh ingredients; the cocktails were also superb and not expensive either and above all the service and the friendliness was just as authentic as it can get :)

Last but not least - you can pay with credit/debit card WITHOUT any additional fee (in Zanzibar, charging 2.5-5% plus to a credit card expense is a norm) which is definitely commendable.

Our visit to Arnold's on the Cliff was an add on to our interesting spice farm tour. It turned out to be something of a real bonus. It's really out of the way of mainstream tourism but the actual location, the food and the great service massively exceeded expectations. We had the swahili spice experience platter, the food was excellent, nicely spiced and well presented. For around $6 per person we were able to enjoy a variety of tastes and textures. If you have time and a means of transport then I would very much recommend it. On our visit we were let down by the weather but there is a great bijou tropical island feel...
