Style over Service. Mocking Tales has extremely impressive decor which fits very well to the magic/witch theme. Our kids were very excited to go there and really enjoyed looking around the restaurant and exploring. The staff were very welcoming when we came in and it had a very nice feel inside and out. Turning to the menu, it was almost impossible to follow - it jumped from pictures of ice creams, to listed food items, to pictures of coffees, to brunch items, to cocktails...and each menu we were given was slightly different. It was extremely confusing, and prices were also on the high side. The food we ordered was tasty, but there was around 25-30 mins between the first dish arriving and the last one which is really unacceptable. It seemed as though the place was understaffed even though it was really quite quiet...around 3 or 4 tables in at the time. As I mention, the theme of the restaurant was great and there was some ambient "spooky" background music....until the live band started which completely ruined the atmosphere that I am sure almost everyone is coming to enjoy. The first song played was "How deep is your love" - it was like a Harry Potter movie including a Bee Gees concert at Hogwarts scene... I feel that there are many good aspects to the restaurant and good potential but probably seems that it is being managed very weakly...they really need to focus pocus on getting the menu in to a logical, clear order and concentrating on getting the service standards right. It is not enough in such a competitive market in Bangkok for restaurants to simply rely on their theme to carry their business...the heavy investment on the decor is wasted unless the restaurant is properly invested in and managed well. Customers will come to enjoy the theme of the restaurant the first time, but it will be the service quality that will get them to come back for 2nd, 3rd, 4th visits etc. Unfortunately, on that basis, we probably won't be back until we know the service side...

The ambiance is absolutely enchanting—dim lighting, quirky decor, and a magical vibe that sets the perfect mood for an unforgettable dining experience.
The food was not just delicious, but truly a work of art. Each dish was presented with incredible attention to detail, almost too beautiful to eat (but I’m glad I did because the flavors were phenomenal!). The drinks are the real showstoppers—creative, theatrical, and crafted with flair. Watching the signature cocktails arrive with dramatic smoke effects was like watching a live performance at the table.
The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, adding to the overall charm of the place. They clearly love what they do, and it shows in their excellent service.

Read moreThe venue itself is nice and it looks like they have good deserts and drinks. But it stops there, other five star reviews from local guides does not make any sense.
We went for lunch and it was sadly a disappointment. Many items such as the slow cooked pork belly was not available. Also the staff was very disorganised with taking our order, we for example ordered a pasta carbonara. The staff did not know if they had served us a carbonara or a bolognese when it arrived. After we got told the pork belly was not available we managed to order 3 burgers, only to be told after some time they could only serve us 2 burgers. The burger patty had obviously been deep frozen and fried directly, because the 2 burgers we got served where raw on the inside. We decided to give the staff one more chance and order 4 Singha beers, they never arrived either.
The place is a complete disaster as a restaurant, at best it can serve ice cream and lime soda.
At a positive note the experience resonates the name, they are mockin...
