And out of nowhere, yet another lovey spot popped up in the rural countryside deep in the sois of Nonthaburi. I can never get tired of Thailand. Everyday is still like a holiday after all these years. There is always something new to discover. This is Coco Pomco Cafe & Bistro , an estate of fan-cooled wooden pavilions raised over the waterways which was once irrigation in a plantation. Plenty of fishes in the water by the way. It is only 2 months since her opening and already her popularity has been proven by the crowds that patronized on a scorching Sunday afternoon. They have plenty of seating which catered well to the throngs, most were seated in the pavilions that can house us family of 5 comfortably. In the main building of traditional Thai built, there is an upstairs but being exposed to the elements, I guess it is more for the night diners. The café & restaurant opens well into the night, 10 pm to be exact. Therefore, this is not only a typical day time venue but can be a great place for dinner and some light drinks. The pavilions each have a swing of some sort hanging that added charms to the gardenly vibe. There is a giant waterwheel spinning to aerate the otherwise still water. It was a quick get in and out lunch for us in between Sunday errands. The food was decent both in taste and portion. The limited menu ranges from western to Thai and the price is typical of a suburban restaurant. Will love to come back someday in the cooler evening to try the other dishes, some weekday perhaps when there is less of a bustle and a good dinner to be had. Till the...
Read moreA Thai food restaurant located uniquely in an orchard and has seating over man-made watercourses. The area is filled with numerous kind of local fruit trees ranging from mango, pomegranate , coconut, etc. The atmosphere here alone is so amazing that may impress you even before tasting the food.
Taste: Very good; both food and beverages ordered.
Recommended dishes/drinks: Food; green curry with chicken and roti sheets as side dishes. The curry is done in traditional Thai style - with ingredients like fingerroots and bergamot leaves for instance and served with roti sheets makes this dish special. For drink I recommend Coco Blue - an excellent mixture of blue Hawaii, pineapple juice, coconut water, and soda. It yields a refreshing flavor with a touch of coconut when being drunk - seriously a must-try here. The honey toast may not have anything spectacular but tastes great too.
Beverage/desserts: Standard, in-house blends, alcoholic beverages
Price: About THB 300-400/person (without alcoholic drinks)
Parking space: Restaurant owned-space,...
Read moreWe arrived around 10:30am on a Sunday morning and were promptly greeted by a friendly and helpful gentleman. Everyone that works there is very happy and provides good service. The drinks are good. However, I think the espresso and cappuccino would taste a little better if they were a bit more full flavored. The food is good and is served quickly. Everything is very clean, including the toilets. There are many places that allow for taking photos. The seating is spaced apart just enough to allow private conversations. There are many fish in the water next to all the dining areas. All of the customers seemed to be enjoying their time here. The sound of the water wheel and soft music contribute to the nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, this peacefulness is interrupted by the parking attendant blowing his whistle. Please consider removing the whistle as it is not needed and takes away from the relaxing environment. There is abundant parking along this road and the parking attendant is very friendly...
