Haew Seafood — Restaurant in Bang Phai Subdistrict

A perfect restaurant for seafood lovers!!! Surprised with their quality of seafood dishes as they taste so fresh and good even better than most restaurants by the beach! So many variety of seafood from whole Sea Bass fish, Grouper fish meat, sea prawn & river prawn, whole crab & crabmeat, different kind of squids, clam & musscle and many more. Prawn stir-fried with chili is great as it has the kick of spicy taste with generous amount of chopped garlic. Groupers meat stir-fried with black pepper tastes good as not only the hot taste from pepper but also spicy from other chili too. Crabmeat stir-fried with yellow chili cooks nicely as you get a distinctive aroma from yellow chili and spicy level is at mild so you still can get to taste crabmeat freshness. Steamed whole crab with its roe and milk is going well wih spicy seafood dipping sauce. Cockles are nicely grilled and fresh with decent size. One last interesting manu is stir-fried stinky bean with prawn & shrimp paste tastes which is so yummy as prawn is fresh and crunchy decent size of stinky beans. The food was good but we were expecting a bit more - simply not extraordinary. The staffs looked overworked. It was extremely busy and they pretended to not see us no matter how much we tried to catch their attention. The food was served and we had to wait 20 mins for the plates and rice to come. The seafood sauce was not served together with the seafood but came 40 mins later. At the end we asked to pack some food home, they didn’t pay attention and threw 1 dish away. When we found out at home and called them, we were asked to pay for the pick-up service ourselves (about 100 THB). Unpacking the food at home, there were a couple of fish eggs and very little veggies, just a lot of soup (we left quite a big portion of this dish untouched at the restaurant because we wanted to eat other things and take this dish home). We ventured out from our comfort zone in Bkk CBD. This seafood restaurant is about 30 mins, easy drive from says The One Bangkok. The food was excellent fresh and tasty. The grilled river prawns were the best I had ever have. They were done just right tender and juicy. The grilled crabs full of crab roes were also excellent. These two were the high light of our lunch today. Surprisingly, the fish cakes here were so good. We also had crab fried rice, somtum, fried fish with fish sauce, oyster omelet, vegetable stir fried, kangsom soup, fried squid with garlic and grilled pork neck salad. Service was ok a bit hard to communicate but not a big problem. We had a private room that fit about 18 people. The room had no window and painted in grey, and acoustic was quite bad.
