A large, air conditioned, western type place. International European, Asian) and Thai dishes are available. The Fountain is across the street from Le Meridien and between the golf club building and the Summit Windmill Residence (a nice aparthotel); it delivers to the Residence but not to the Meridien.
We had our first evening meal there. It was surprisingly good, much better than our expectations. After that we had all our meals there except breakfast and every dish was either good or more than good.
It is open 6am to 10pm+ and less expensive than the hotel restaurants (but still ++ and not actually cheap). Only buffet breakfast (฿300), which we prefer to avoid, is available between 6-10am, so we were directed to the golf club next door, to Palm Breeze restaurant, an open air place on the lower floor, overlooking the golf course, where a la carte breakfast is available between 6-10am. We enjoyed a set “American breakfast” (฿180) with coffee/tea, orange juice (but not freshly squeezed, unfortunately), 2 fried eggs, good bacon, slices of cheap ham, toast, and little packs of butter and jam. Sausages are also included (but only chicken, the pork option was unavailable, so we skipped them).
The Fountain and Palm Breeze have the same menu from 10am and clearly share the same excellent kitchen. We tried Thai (really good), Japanese (not authentic but good enough, says the one - of us - who lived in Japan for over a decade), Chinese (again, good enough) and western (good - and a pleasant surprise that the Caesar salad dressing tasted correct, as over here it seems to be a hard one to get right). The only negative is the often 1/2 hour wait for food, even though the restaurant was always less than 1/3 full when we were there - and sometimes 2 people on the same table are served 10 minutes apart, even after a half hour wait.
Service was friendly and...
Read moreWe ordered a pineapple fried rice dish, cheeseburger & fries, milkshakes and beer. Unfortunately, the drinks took forever to come with the 3 milkshakes separated by around 20 minutes from each other. The burgers were red and bloody inside so we needed to send them back to be re-cooked. They also made a mistake on the fried rice dish, sending something totally different but my wife was ok with that.
Not sure what's going on there but the servers seem to be untrained but on the other hand they do seem to be understaffed so I can't blame them that much. Wouldn't recommend the...
Read moreI used this bar 🍷 because there weren’t many restaurants around the hotel.
The staff were very kind, and there was live music on the terrace with someone playing and singing.
The pizza 🍕 was delicious, and the music created a great atmosphere!
They also had a happy hour 🍻 , which made the experience even better.
If you’re staying at this hotel, I definitely recommend...
