Baan Charan Eatery — Restaurant in Bang Waek Subdistrict

This large but cozy well established Eatery has the atmosphere of an authentic fine dining restaurant in Bangkok back in the olden days. It offers a good variety of both Thai and Western food.

Pizza is tasty, no wonder why it has been one of the best sellers at this hidden gem. Mixed sausages were delicious. They were accompanied by a portion of sauerkraut, chips and grilled cherry tomatoes.

Crispy oyster pancake is light and crispy presenting a generous serving of good amount of fresh oysters. This dish can be easily shared by a few people but it can be too much for one person.

Signature dishes such as Yen Ta Fo and Garlic Crispy Pork were nice. Yen Ta Fo hotpot was big enough to share among 2-3 people. The soup was on sweet side. Would be nice to reduce the sweetness and served with choices of condiments such as chillies. Fried rice with crispy pork fat was well seasoned and cooked perfectly.

Watermelon shake was lovely. It was served in a plastic cup with lid which was not environmentally friendly.

All Bakery including bread, cake and pastry were made on premises. Coconut cake was delicious. Price was high for a tiny piece of cake.

The restaurant quite old fashion cus I thought it open for a long time. Outside looks closed but I see many cars park there, I knew that still open.

For tha food, the food came really quick and the taste was good especially truffle pizza which is recommend dish here.

The desserts, we ordered for 2. The first one is lemon cheese cake, this one is so so I think. But another one which is recommend by the server is hazelnut cake, I quite surprised for this cus the texture is amazing like creamy and not too sweet as well. The food used to be really good when the place newly opened. I used to visit every now and then, but honestly the quality of food has dropped since (at least the Italian food). For dinner this time I ordered a pork tenderloin, it was bland. The pesto pasta and chicken didn’t even taste like pesto at all, more like white sauce and tbh I don’t know why it’s served with chicken because it doesn’t add to the pesto.
