Garage Cafe — Restaurant in Chanthaburi Province

My first ever 1-star review. Not because of human error, but because of a clear choice to ignore integrity.

Visited this place and ordered three beers: London Pride, Deschutes Fresh Squeezed, and Beerlao Dark.

Deschutes came out perfectly, bottle at the table, poured fresh, no issue. But the London Pride was brought over already poured, with no bottle in sight. That immediately felt off.

The beer had a strange taste, was completely flat, and had zero foam. It was borderline undrinkable, genuinely disgusting.

I asked the staff for the bottle, because they had intentionally thrown it away. Only then did I see the problem: the beer had expired since January 2024.

The staff quietly apologized once. No explanation. No concern. No gesture of responsibility. I didn’t ask for compensation, but I expected better.

This wasn’t just a one-off mistake. It was a deliberate decision to serve a bad product and hope no one would notice.

And that, to me, reflects poorly on the owner.

If this sounds unfair, feel free to check the CCTV. Why else would your staff throw away the bottle before serving, and replace it without question, if...

One of the best in Chanthaburi. Good menu, with English for every item. Tasty tucker and clean. Lots of beer varieties. An easy place to come and have fun with friends. Staff don't speak much English but they are friendly and service is fine. Recommended highly...There's very few other foreigner friendly places in town...oh and they play jazz, not that ghastly thai pop garbage......

2018 The best place for working or reading. There is free wifi, quite good quality, food, drink and desert. You can enjoy yourself in good taste beer. I recommend the rainbow cake that is the most my favorite desert menu and the Tom Yum Kung spaghetti is very good. You can go upstair after 5:00pm. It is private more than down stairs.
