In short: Great food, quite expensive, crappy restaurant, far from town.
Everything leading up to getting the food pointed to this being a terrible choice for a restaurant. Luckily the taste and serving size redeemed them but there's plenty of room for improvement for the overall experience. I wouldn't make the trip here from town unless you're a huge German food enthusiast.
Things to improve: More light - the place was way too dark Better menu - half of it was in German, it wasn't clear which pictures matches which meals and the pictures didn't really indicate the meal sizes Better mosquito prevention - maybe some coils and spray for guests Prices - they seem about right for this type of food, although perhaps a little high. Read moreThe food was absolutely delicious, and the setting is peaceful and set back from the road so you're away from the traffic noise. However, it was the outstanding, generosity of Nikki and Ice that made Aroy Garden exceptional for it's hospitality. After our meal, we struggled to get a Grab taxi for almost 20 minutes. We asked Nikki for recommendations of a local driver, and Ice stepped in and offered for her and Nikki to drive us the 10 minutes to our hotel. Plus the owner is very friendly and they are always accommodating with our toddler and infant. The food is delicious.
