Bucoliq — Restaurant in Chiang Mai Province

A hidden gem that came highly recommended to me which I expected to be good and exceeded my expectations. Nice atmosphere, great service and most importantly, fantastic food. I tried a brisket beef burger on my visit accompanied by hand cut chips and an excellent hickory sauce all cooked to perfection. I also took away a couple of their home made pies and found them excellent. Easy parking available and look forward to my next visit very soon when I will try one of their steaks. Pancakes with bacon, whipped butter and maple syrup was also excellent. Good parking available.If heading here for house speciality of beef brisket burger it's recommended that you ring in advance to check availability as it can sometimes be sold out. When using Google maps to locate this place, depending on which road you enter from 118, Google maps will NOT take you there. It will get you in the general vicinity but not anywhere near that you could find it. I have tried many times and now fortunately can remember how to get there. The owner really should sort this out. Try zooming in on Google maps and you will see that Bucolic is directly next to a large Thai restaurant with which it shares a car park. The Thai restaurant is in Thai writing but ends with the number 3. As a Texan with a taste for good BBQ I had high hopes for this place, unfortunately the brisket was obviously old and reheated probably by a few days. It had a decent taste as far as flavor goes, but it was not worth the drive and high cost given we were served old meat.

Servers / staff also took the order and then just disappeared into the kitchen and never came back out, no real service.

Parking was difficult and the drinks selection was nothing you couldn’t already find at a 7-11 but double the price.

Overall I was hopeful, but disappointed in the experience and quality of BBQ.

What you see in the pictures and videos was probably from along time ago and not what you get today.

I really hope they improve or get back to where they started.

Bucoliq is a restaurant serving mainly western foods, especially beef steak. It is located in a place hidden in Sanpapo or Sansai district of Chiangmai in the north of Thailand. Check the location surely before your transportation because it is not easy for the first time visitor. Bucoliq serves not only beef but also pork steak, pork chop, fish steak and chicken steak. Cooking is very good so we can enjoy tasty and wonderful steak when we visited there. Italian noodles like Pasta and Spaghetti are also available in many selections for the customers. The atmosphere - Bucoliq is an open-air restaurant which has not so many seats available but it is nice and comfortable decoration inside. Price wise is reasonable.
